Character:
Name: Iris Lindemann
Age: 20
Appearance: Short to the extent of often being mistaken for a teenager, with shoulder-length black hair and grey eyes. Likes wearing ponchos over whatever she wears, which tend to be mechanic's overalls and trousers.
Background: Iris hails from a family of East German scientists, who defected to the US during the 1990s. The family was picked up by the CFI due to their former occupation as nuclear technicians and, although not responsible for the major breakthrough, oversaw the construction of some of the prototype mecha. Iris herself grew up with a different passion; that of engineering and mechanics, rather than nuclear physics, and showed an aptitude for repairing and fixing things; first minor things like the family toaster, then the family's car, then ended up being hired by one of the companies contracted to work on the robots to work on a prototype, which she ended up having to test drive, thus learning her way around the robots; both their inner workings and how to pilot them.
Her aptitude for the workings of the robots and her exemplary piloting during the test-drive stages was what earned her a slot as a pilot after she applied, given that the Initiative was completely unaware of her relation to her parents in the program until after her appointment.

Robot:
Name (Single): Freya Vethrfolnir Mode
Name (Combined): Freya Valkyria Mode
Abbreviation: FV
Appearance (Single): A metal vehicle resembling a falcon, with a sleek, slim body. The wings do not flap, instead mounted with several jets pointed backwards to propel the Freya- this creates the appearance of backward-pointing 'feathers' for the wings. The falcon's 'head', where the pilot compartment is mounted, has a distinctly feminine design to it.
Appearance (Combined): A slim, feminine humanoid, with a dusty blue and white color scheme. The wings are now at the back of the robot, capable of rotating the propulsion jets for better manoeuvring. The head of the robot resembles a human's, with no mouth and a blue visor where the mecha pilot is situated, and the head seems to be mounted with a winged helm.
Background: The Freya was the product of a collaboration between the German, Danish and Norwegian CFI Branches, a prototype to see if an animal-form mecha was a viable bodyform for a combat robot. Choosing to take their inspiration from Norse myth, the Freya was constructed and shipped over to the Californian branch, where it was routinely assigned to Iris, who took to it like a duck to water, immediately making several modifications to the robot to 'improve' it.
