Unbeknownst to the rest of the party, however, Rosencrantz was no spring chicken when it came to fighting. He'd had his fair share of fights, but they weren't exactly the kind of fights an adventurer got into; it was minor stuff like defending his girlfriends from someone harassing them, or protecting his little brother from those who would collect his debt. He'd learned so much, however, in his brief time with the group, especially Asuna.

He'd seen how Asuna fought, how she moved in combat. She was like lightning in battle. Rosencrantz, of course, wasn't nearly as fast, but he had flexibility, and a knife was a faster weapon than a sword.

Leviathan delivered a mighty thrust with her spear, aiming directly for Rosencrantz's gut, but the goblin manages to bend aside, his knife darting quickly past her guard. Two quick stabs into Leviathan's gut, just like Asuna would have done.

Two quick stabs and the vampire fell back, shaking and looking at the steady trickle of blood from her wounds.
"....not possible. What kind of monsters are you raising here, Goddess?"
"Never mind that. I'll....be back. We....I need to regroup."

And in a flicker of shadowy magic, Leviathan disappears, leaving nothing behind except an empty arena and unanswered questions.

Rosencrantz manages to tangle with Leviathan....and seemingly doesn't do nearly as much damage as he might imagine.

A burst of light slices into Leviathan, causing her to hiss loudly and retaliate by spearing Lucifer across the shoulder with an ethereal, shadowy duplicate of her spear.
