Suddenly, Eun, Jesse and Tomas would find that Ao has stepped in the middle of the attack, sword drawn. Ao's blade is flaring with deep, blue Spiral Energy, appearing to be coated in blue flame, with light seeping through the cracks within the ancient sword.

Ao steps in front to parry Jesse's blade with his own, clearly straining to hold up against it. The swordsman only seems to be holding against it with their own Spiral Energy and skill at swordsmanship.

Alright, take it up with Sanure then. If you don't stick around or do, it's your choice, and thus it's up to you whether or not you want to RP, regardless of plot reason or not.

This is basically the reason I had Emilia share a city with Gareth, at least. Most of the protagonists in older RotMG lived near each other, most of these guys live on the other side of the globe from each other.
