They are likely shown to a table. It's just after the lunch rush, where most of the diners from two hours ago have left.

Luckily enough, both are able to get a table that is blissfully unreserved.

"I guess the school provided the money?"

"Shall we eat here then?"

"Food sounds like a good idea. There's a couple of good restaurants around here, too."
