State schools (public schools everywhere else) in England are....variable in quality.

I barely didn't pass muster (missed out by somewhere between 2-5 marks the marks needed to get in) for an entrance exam into a private school and had to go to a state school.

As you can see from my ranting, you can tell where on the quality scale it ended up being. Of course, ironically, I applied for the same private school for college and they let me in. :P

So is my school, supposedly.

They pass more people in English and History than Science and DT (Engineering equivalent).
Tells you just how crappy the school I got into is.

At least I managed to get into one of the better schools in the country for college, which I'm happy about.
