"Well...I-I suppose I....I don't have a choice. I don't even have a home here anymore, so it's not like I get anything by staying, and my stocks are so low.....so I might as well go."

2883
"I...I have always wanted to see the world....and I DO have a large wagon you can use for transport....and....s-some adventurers would give me constant business..."
"I would love to c-come along! If you'll have me. I-I can take care of myself! I can cook, I can clean, I can appraise stuff for you, I promise I can be helpful!"

2884
Milly's eye widens at the proposition.
"W-wait, a wandering merchant? Are you guys....adventurers?"

"Ah, is it going to be casino tokens? Fish? I can do fish. I'm a water goddess, they're sort of my domain. The fishermen love me."

2885
"As you can see, she sees the light of being in the service of a beauteous goddess such as myself and surely couldn't contain her joy! So, sign away or don't. I'm sure I'll forgive you if you don't."

2886
"Y-you would? Really? I-I never really got many customers w-when I actually HAD a proper brick-and-mortar shop! Actually.....uh....you guys are my first customers....for about three months."
She clears her throat, arranging herself and recomposing herself, even trying to put a smile on her face.
"Milly's Mercantile Endeavours, bringing you a smile with affordable prices!"

2887
"W-what? No! O-of course not! T-they're not great quality, b-but they're not broken, I swear!"
"I'm just...I'm just having a little....difficulty selling them, is all. Those Annas ran me out of business last week and I've been trying to sell off my stock so I can get out of Initia and start over somewhere else, is all."

2888
"Ah, yes, someone who appreciates my beauty and graciousness at last."

Across the tavern....

....w-what was that chill I felt, just now?

A young woman is hunched on the ground, swords, tomes and vulneraries spilling out of a massive backpack on her back and another satchel at her side; she's a merchant, by the looks of it, but not a particularly wealthy or successful one. She seems to be attempting to pick up all of her fallen merchandise before Jarvis speaks.
"Come on, don't be all broken, don't be all broken...."
"Ah! I....uh....sorry for bumping into you! I-I didn't mean it, I swear!"

2890
As Jarvis marches his way over to the shop, he quite suddenly- and violently, in his rage- shoulder-checks someone.
"Aah!"
The sound of iron implements skittering all over the cobblestones of the quarter can be heard right behind the spearman.

2891
"Ugh, fine. Anything else you people want?"

2892
"Uh....like what? Casino tokens?"
"Then surely it would not be a problem to add such a clause then?"
"It would be an impossible condition to fulfill after all, yes?"
"....fine. But it won't happen anyway, so I don't know why you're so worried about it."

//You have reached Belphegor, Demon General of Sloth, while I'm busy sleeping or doing something equally useful. If you have this number, you're either a friend or a stalker. If you're a stalker, kindly piss off. If you're a friend, leave a message after the tone and then piss off. If you're Mammon, delete this number and get a life.//

....straight to voicemail. The disadvantage of having the General of Sloth on your side is, well, they're the general of Sloth.

2894
"He's the Demon Lord. Just because some of his subordinates seem nice doesn't make HIM nice."

All the other shops seem to be either Anna's Emporiums, closed, packed, or a little out of your price range (not like Anna's Emporium, definitely more reasonable in price, but not something you can afford at the moment until your investments pay off).

This....seems to be a conundrum.
