Eh. Maeve is more of a Semblance-based Mage- a classic mage. A Sorcerer (inherently gifted with limited arsenal) in fantasy terms rather than a Wizard (can do anything with the right knowledge and materials).

Well, we've had people summoning giant monsters and reflecting attacks wholesale as Semblances. I'm sure Metal isn't that powerful.

Also, Minty is close enough. Just be the token mini-moe. :P
