At that, Hikari lights up.
"Eh? Where'd you hear that?"
"Huh? Uh....my dad. He always said weird stuff like that when he was around. It always sounded like it was from kinda anime or something."
Hikari looks down.
"Huh. Weird. I always thought my dads said that kind of stuff, but they always tell me I'm the one who was always saying it to psych myself up."

"Can't fly without transforming. Can't do Mirager shit without transforming. You also gotta be singing or have someone else be singing to transform, too. Something about fold receptors only being active when they receive phonic gain. I dunno, I ain't exactly the egghead around here."
"As for what else these new spooky Mirages can do, no clue. I've seen them once before, but I ain't got a clue if they're anything special."

Tsubasa thinks about flight.
"You wanna fly, huh? Me too, Imaeda. That was...something else."
Feeling the wind was one thing, but flight? He couldn't just go back to parkour after that.

"Yeah, that's just Cosmos Biorhythm - I think, that's the formal name fer it. Warpin' space. Pretty damn rare, or so the Professor says." Azusa remarks. "I've only seen it a few times. Never seen someone use it to cut a hole open though like that, but I've seen people use it to like, teleport projectiles and stuff."
"You can have types of Biorhythm?"
"Elements, like some kinda video game. Everyone's born with one even if they don't got the fold receptors to use a Mirage. The Professor says mine's fire, so that checks out. Stuff like Cosmos is freakin' rare. Supposedly if you got that, you have like, alien blood or somethin'. The Professor went on about alternate worlds or realities or whatever."
"Eeehhh? That's a thing?!"
"You gotta ask the Professor. I don't know shit."

"Eh? Well...um," Hikari rubs the back of her head, chuckling nervously before turning a page to a pink and white ensemble, a giant ribbon attached to the waist.
"This one's my favourite. I sorta based it on Setsuna's stagewear at Makuhari Messe last year, and I think it'd really go with my Mirager outfit, because it's the same color and everything. It's uh...one of the only ones I felt confident in taking inspiration from...because all her dresses are so revealing..."

She further flips through another few, including a red dress, with a rainbow-colored tie and white highlights, and a black and red crop top, scarf and short skirt.

"I went through a few concepts trying to see which one I liked the most or felt really comfortable. I-I mean, I didn't actually MAKE them, y-yet, I didn't really have any the materials to do it."
"I mean, I also had a few designs based on your stage outfits too, Abbie-senpai. I always thought your aesthetic was really cool! Your songs are also really strong, too....I actually used to follow reposts of your singing, when I was starting out on my Youtube channel."

Realising that...she might not want to leave you alone."

Haruka ignores the voice of a young girl, clad in silver with a Mirage-formed dagger in her hand, saying she'd protect her big sister.

"I don't like the idea of Misaki being a Mirager either, but I think she might also want her older sister to support her even if she doesn't agree with her choices."

Haruka interjects, walking over to Miyuki and Briar. She at least isn't shaking anymore, and seems to be pretty well-put together.
"I see where Mukawa's coming from. It's different if you're the older sibling. It's....not easy knowing they'll be in danger. No matter what we say or do, she's always going to be worried about Misaki."
Hikari perks up at Abbie's entrance.
"Hiiii!"
"Late to the party much? What's up, Abbie?"

Haruka nods, leaving with Miyuki.
"I....also need a minute to process."
She tries to hide the clear shaking in her hands as she leaves. Hikari notices, but before she can say something, Araki comments. She puts on her biggest smile.
"I just wanted to be like you, Fujibayash-senpai and Kumon-senpai, you know? It's hard trying to be like your idols if you don't have a plan."

As the EUFON agents not already present at the building arrive, they arrive to see nobody in particular. After all, they're all about half an hour early.

Still, the Fire Soul Agency is upstairs, and owing to the agreement between both agencies, both can freely enter each other's public areas, though given Fire Soul's facilities are in the middle of the city, and EUFON's were on the outskirts for the moment, it was a little easier to visit the Fire Soul facilities.

"Silly, you're not going to be wearing that on stage! I'd be happy to draw up something a bit more....fitting."
"Not sure. Imaeda here still somehow looks like he walked off of some runway somehow."

"Still, it'll be nice having so much control over our stage personas and stuff! I also have a LOT of song ideas. I wonder if Javier has a look at all of them..."
"Stage personas....damn. That reminds me. What would I even be like on stage? What would I even do on stage again? Shit...Minase, you ever...Minase?"

Hikari suddenly produces a large portfolio, full of drawings of dresses and other stage costumes, rifling through it. Tsubasa lifts an eyebrow as he peers over.

"....these all yours?"
"Mhm! I spent weeks making all of these. For uh....y'know, if I ever got to perform alongside Kumon-senpai on stage. I really like some of these designs. D-don't get me wrong, I didn't think this would ever really happen, but...it was nice to have a costume in mind. I really wanted to impress Kumon-senpai on stage, you know, if I ever got to perform next to her. I never thought I'd really get to use any of these, though..."
"You, uh...know how to sew?"
"Mhm! My dads taught me. We had to do a lot of stuff on our own in the country, so I kinda got good at a lot of stuff."
"Damn. This really was your dream, huh..."
"No shit, you actually had this all figured out." Azusa snorts. "Banjo, Red, you two ever think like that?" She eyes Nagisa and Hagane.

"Paired Mirages can have radically different personalities like their wielders, or very similar personalities. A Mirage seeks out first and foremost a Mirager like itself.

Fragarach, for instance, seeks out wielders that wish to protect someone or something else, even if they don't know it yet."

At that, Tsubasa silently looks at Hikari, before back at Fragarach around his neck, looking visibly confused.

"Yggdrasil seeks out wielders as earthy and stalwart as itself, the essence of the World Tree. Aymr seeks out those who can resonate with its flames and burn as hot as it can.

Brisingamen is a little special because it's the oldest Mirage in existence. The first one, even. In all my years, I've never figured out what she wants in a wielder. She's only ever had one."

"Eh? What do you mean?"

"Mirages have been around for centuries. But in all the time and records, only one person has ever been recorded to have wielded Brisingamen aside from yourself, Miss Minase, and that was a long time ago."

Professor Ormrsdottir takes a sip of her coffee.

"It's why I took an interest in you. Well, two reasons, Miss Minase. Firstly Brisingamen chose you. Secondly, your Biorhythm levels. Do you remember your audition, the one you failed?"

"Yeah. Miki mentioned it was to test out new Miragers. I failed, right?"

"Correct. Your Biorhythm levels were, at the time, too low to support the use of any Mirage. Not only that, your Biorhythm waveform - like a fingerprint or DNA for Biorhythm - didn't match any Mirage we had on record. However, last night, your Biorhythm levels were among the highest recorded, and Brisingamen resonated with you.

Not only that, you awakened the dormant fold receptors of Misaki, Seitaro and Tsubasa in so doing."

"You saying she's special, teach?"

"Not for certain. I will need to run a few tests. Later, of course."

Hikari looks down at her hands in awe.
"I...did all that? Eh? That's...that doesn't make sense. All I did was sing!"

"So you did, Miss Minase. So...the next thing in question. As soon as Javier is done with Miss Yukine, I will have him take you through and sign your contracts.

You will be expected to be available for practice as singers and as Miragers. You will have full freedom to write, sing and record what songs you wish. We will not stop you from dating or having personal lives - Javier does not believe in that, and the Mirager science supports him. You will also be expected to tour as well, and release albums. Not only because we need money, but because the song of a Mirager can ward off an Amanojaku and make people less susceptible to possession by Amanojaku.

Like I said, it won't be easy, but that's what you sign up for."

Suddenly, Professor Ormrsdottir's phone rings. She sighs.

"I will have to cut our meeting short. Excuse me. If you have any questions, Minako will be here shortly to answer, and Nagisa, Hagane and Azusa will be happy to help."

She storms out of the room irritably, taking the phone from her pocket as she does. Hikari sits down on a nearby chair.
"....I still don't get any of this Mirager stuff. Misaki, do you get any of it?"
