Akemi's humming can be heard from the kitchen.

30152
"I know! And the potential applications of standardization might help reduce losses in the long term. I've also been looking at ways to safeguard the pilot from damage and possibly even allow them to eject from their cockpit in an emergency.

Of course, the issue is that the landing might be painful and possibly fatal, but if it helps to-"

Then Corporal Killjoy Hosier.

"Yes, Corporal."
She picks up a piece from the wreckage- part of an Qaluplik control console- and takes out her shawl, wrapping it around her as she walks back to the Edelweiss.

30153
"I was actually hoping to find some of their weapon calibrators or control consoles, even if they were ruined. I'd like to analyse them myself, Sergeant.

You see, I was working on a design for an improved controller that made mechs respond faster to commands in addition to making the use feel smoother. It was a bit unorthodox and unpolished, but I was testing it on an old Ishim model....."

Iris then launches into a very technological term-packed retelling of her attempts to revolutionise Terralban mech control schemes. Judging from the terms, it seems she more than knows her way around the things, too.

30154
Iris eventually gets out of the Edelweiss and helps sort the scrap, using her knowledge of mech parts as a former engineer to sort the parts into useful salvage and scrap metal to be melted down.

((You can, but it's just a waste of SP. It's a more expensive Agi at this point.))

((Nope. That's the disadvantage of a group attack against one enemy.))

30157
Iris gets no-scoped as she climbs out of her tank.
"And the same to you, Trevor." Iris sighs in relief as she leans back in her chair, slumping and breathing heavily.

She did it. She survived battle. She'd survived.

At first, she couldn't believe it- of course, that illusion was quickly broken by her superior's comments on the radio, followed by the inevitable chatter.

((Your own application says otherwise.))

Killing blows?

Iris killed the Red 2, Karsten Orange 1 and Catherine Orange 2.

Nope, you're all in rest mode. I basically crunched some numbers and killed off the mechs likely to die. So....luckily, none of you guys and mostly them.

((Good joke, Samson has no Agi attacks. :P))

Final Turn
Most of the salvos and rounds fired fail to do any significant damage to the fleeing Edo mechs and artillery trucks as they leave the battleground, clearly outmatched and scattered without their leader. However, Red 2 and Orange 2 were hit and taken down in the chaos, both taken down by volleys of concentrated fire and in the latter's case, an angry mech-pilot's borderline suicidal manoeuvre. Orange 1 is also down due to equal amounts of salvos smashing into it.

As the remains of the destroyed mecha smoke and their pilots climb out, suing for mercy, a feeling washes over all of you, as if a great weight has lifted from you, whether you were a freshly minted soldier shoved into the cockpit or a hardened veteran, saltier than any other soldier around.

You have survived your first encounter with an enemy in a new war. That much is enough of a prize to begin with. Not all are so lucky.

But more than that, you are victorious.

The enemy has fled before you, their vehicles lying open for the plunder and their pilots kneeling for mercy in front of you. At that, one may pat themselves on the back.

Your radios beep into life as the Terralban officer above even Lieutenant Aurelio commands that you set camp to scavenge all the salvageable parts from the remaining mecha and capture all Edo pilots to ensure that they do not have the chance to take them back. Hence, you are to set temporary camp here until a team arrives to continue salvaging parts and retrieve the pilots.

You will likely return by evening to be debriefed and celebrate your first victory.

((Sorry for the lack of rolls, but I wanted to end this quickly so this thread didn't end up dying.))

Maria's Group
Virgil casually gestures towards Loki, and Samson rushes at him, smashing his fist into his side. It does 20 damage.

Maria defends, as does Tohru.

Nadeko’s Skewer misses, as Medusa’s spear barely brushes past his robe.

Evron re-enters the fight, raring to go!

Biraindo strikes Loki with his bat as hard as he physically can, dealing 85 damage!

Amaterasu blasts Loki with even more flames, dealing a pitiful 1 (does not Null) damage. The flames barely even scorch Loki. Kiyoshi, however, fails to find any weapons.

Enemy Movement
Loki tilts his head at Maria and blasts her with ice, dealing 45 damage. She isn’t knocked down however, due to defending.

He then turns to Virgil, before ramming his lance into him, dealing 109 damage!

Kyousuke’s analysis finally arrives.
”Careful. Loki is resistant to Ice and Lightning, but is very weak to Fire. However, he seems to have a barrier around him that prevents your fire attacks from working properly on him.

It’s wearing off soon. Fire at will!”

Turn Order: Virgil - Maria - Tohru - Nadeko - Evron (?) -Biraindo - Kiyoshi - Loki - Loki

Regenerate restores 8 HP and 9 HP to Nadeko and Virgil.
Loki regenerates 49 HP.

((Just need Pencil_Art's action for the other team.))

Akemi's dorm, which is in the opposite room, is far more unkempt, with clothes messily scattered about- no undergarments, thankfully- band posters, her drumsticks, and what looks like a console and a laptop stacked on top of each other. Her textbooks lie on the desk next to those, unopened and left alone.
