Maria nods.
"It applies a little to reality, but yeah.

We do have real weapons- as you can see from her gun and my musket. You can take your pick tomorrow when I show you the ropes."

Still, the majority of the players are going to be limited to Neo Kyoto. And there's always region-locking and limited to being run on a Japanese version of an operating system.

And there's the whole 'this game kills people' thing. So I don't think people will be putting too much effort into playing Millennium overseas.

So Kiyoshi's stuff looks good, right?

"Right, so back to my question: why recruit students? Why not cops or soldiers?"
"The majority of adults cannot form a Persona in Achronos. We do not understand why.

Trust me, if we could recruit cops and soldiers, we would.."

"Come to think of it, I've got a few questions: why give us our cards by mail if we were going to meet in person anyway? Are there any special laws of that world? Virgil seemed unharmed despite what happened and there wasn't really any collateral damage either. What exactly are these 'shadows'? How do they act? Do the people being abducted have to be Millennium players?"
"The cards were sent to confirm that you were indeed the people at your addresses- I would have called an alarm if any one of you weren't the people at the address.

As for why Virgil wasn't too badly damaged, we do not understand Achronos completely, but it seems that possessing a Persona grants you toughness beyond the norm. And you will need that.

We don't know what the Shadows are, either- as far as we're concerned, they're monsters that kill the victims thrown into Achronos. As for how they act, you'll be debriefed on that tomorrow. And as far as we can tell, only Millennium players have been victims."

And the whole spiel against Asada kinda sealed the deal.

((Again, Stirk. Terrible luck.))
Karma utterly fails to pull Yoshida in front of him in time as Virgil's kick soars through the air and into his crotch.

He collapses to the floor in pain, clutching his groin.

Damn, Virgil, how hard did you hit him?

Maria tries to pull them apart, as does Miss Aisaka.
"Hey, hey! Enough!"

The slight towards Asada is enough to get Kyousuke and Tohru glaring at Karma. Tohru's response is to simply follow Nana out, but not before mouthing a silent apology at Asada.

30788
Maria nods.
"In effect, yeah, we're magic police, straight out of some crappy anime."

30789
Miss Aisaka's face suddenly grows harsher.
"Much shadier corporations than we have tried. The results....tended to create powerful, uncontrollable Personae that could rip their own wielder apart, and required suppressors which could kill their owner, due to the inherent issue of forcibly repressing a natural part of one's mind.

There is a reason we do not do that."

30790
"Hardly, if ever, that happens, unless your Persona is forcibly awakened. Yours were naturally awakened- that is to say, they rose to protect you in a time of danger."

30791
"Probably, better that way, yeah. Wait, what prevents people from going rogue and just doing their own thing in that world?"
Branson, no more exhausted than he was this afternoon (due to not fighting at all), slowly walks over to the practice rooms.
The boy, Kyousuke, speaks up.
"Well, generally, if you go rogue, you end up alone, in a foreign world with no food, no water and a lot of hostile monsters trying to kill you and you alone."

"Oh yeah, that's right!"

30792
"We have practice rooms downstairs for the weapons- unfortunately, we haven't figured out how to get Personae to manifest outside of Achronos."

30793
Maria shakes her head.
"We don't know what happened to the developers. I know they were very active on the forums, but they just....vanished, one day. We didn't find them in Achronos, and they haven't shown up as dead in the real world yet."

30794
Miss Aisaka nods, smiling a little.
"If all of you are going to join, then you will be provided equipment.

As for our excursions into Achronos, our first as a team will be in tomorrow night. A victim has been thrown into Achronos- a student of Tatsumi High. We are unable to mount an expedition tonight as the equipment we need to access Achronos was damaged from the last excursion.

You will be briefed upon your mission tomorrow. For now, you may leave and enjoy your afternoons."

30795
"Heh. You seem far too perceptive to be fooled by anyone like Delilah. And far too polite to succumb to hubris, too."
Maria calmly sips her coffee.
