It was intended to be weak as a tutorial fight. :P

Don't expect the next fight to have that obvious of a vulnerability. :P

Tohru merely sweeps her hand across the air, before pointing at the Shadow.

"Norn...blow him away."
Casting Garu.

Turn 2
This time, everyone knows what to do. Your resolves are set.

Samson strikes the creature with a fist faster than the eye can process, dealing 53 HP! The creature reels, but the onslaught is not over.

Norn follows up with a cyclone of green, cutting wind, dealing 46 HP. This assault is then followed by a blast of cold, freezing winds from Chione, dealing 103 HP!

The beast is knocked down. The brown-haired girl yells out from behind them.
"Hit it quickly! Before it gets back up! Throw everything you've got at it!"

You all oblige, setting upon it like vultures upon a corpse with all your might.
All-Out Attack!

Damage: 65 HP

The creature roars in pain, clutching its side as it floats away from the group, unable to fight. It simply leers at the brown-haired girl, chuckling, before fading into the ground in front of everyone's eyes.

The fight is over, as everyone's Personae disintegrates.

You feel drained, somehow, but you have won over an otherworldly threat.

Post-Combat Report:
All party members alive.
10 XP to everyone
15 XP to Virgil, Tohru, Evron, Nadeko, Nana, Clair, Karma, Biraindo and Maria.
Drops:
None.

Tohru leaps at the beast with Nadeko, yelling while readying her spear-branch.

The words were in her mind. She didn't know how they got there, or how she knew them.

All she knew is that now was the time to say them. It felt right.
"Seer of Fates, I call upon you to alter my destiny! Norn, ARISE!"

Turn 1
Everyone hears a shattering of glass and is shone upon by a glowing blue light.

Above them now float various creatures, from massive serpents, to clockwork maidens to faeries of snow and monsters emerging from the sea- all possessors of great power.

Collectively, they have but one thing to say.
"Thou art I, and I art thou.

I am a Persona, the inner self, emerged from the sea of thy soul. My power is yours to command."

The first to emerge is Virgil's Persona, Samson, and the second Tohru's, Norn. Everyone's Personae manifests afterwards, facing down the enemy with wrath and fury.

Samson delivers his attack by smashing a blast of wind straight into the creature with his fist, hurling it back! Virgil feels, just as the attack lands, strength course through his veins.

Nearby, Norn's staff glows with power, granting Samson and Virgil stronger attacks for three turns.
Damage: 81 HP(Tarukaja boosted)

Meanwhile, Nadeko stabs the creature with her poker! It seems to resist piercing, but it hurts nonetheless.
Damage: 57 HP

The creature falls back, wounded but not finished. It strikes back!

A thunderbolt strikes Ira dead on! Evron is sent reeling from the damage to his Persona, but is left still standing.
Damage: 50 HP
A thunderbolt strikes Chione! Nana, in contrast, only feels a pinprick of pain, as Chione seems to resist the attack without effort.
Damage: 1 HP (Doesn't Null Zio)

No, he can attack this once after a knockdown. It's fine. I like drama- and the fight hadn't properly begun.

After this, though, once knocked down, you lose your next turn getting up.

Unsure how bricks are abandoned weapons.
Apparently, even a scrunched up broadleaf newspaper can be a lethal weapon.

Virgil tries again! If a musket can harm it then punching it must work as well!
Battle Music~

Virgil lands a hit on something....metallic.

Whatever he did, it didn't seem very effective.

He gets the favour returned to him, as he feels a large blade cut down onto him!

Virgil is heavily wounded by the blade, as it seems to cut him much keener than it really should. He is knocked down by the force of the strike.

The smoke is cleared by the force of the strike, as the giant monster is revealed, floating off of the ground.

It is clearly humanoid, armored in medieval Japanese segmented armor, cracked in places, painted black and gold. Its head is robotic and sleek, with one half of it cloven off to reveal nothing but blackness and a red eye staring out of it, and the other half rusted and charred. In its right hand, it clutches a large naginata- presumably the weapon that had injured Virgil.

It stares down at Virgil, tilting its head curiously, before turning to the girl pointing a musket at it.

The brown-haired girl takes a shot at it, but it hardly does anything.
"D-dammit...it's resistant....

Just then, however, everyone present hears a voice within their heads. It is a reassuring voice, one that seems to calm their nerves, exuding a sense of protection.
No matter who it is, it says the same thing.
"Fear not. I am here to protect you.

Say the word, and I shall emerge to fight in your defense."

((Basically, if you wanted to come up with a cool invocation to bring in your Persona, feel free to get the invocation in before I start the fight proper.

Leave the actual appearing of Personae to me, though, I'll need that for the intro proper. :P))

Tohru follows suit, picking up a branch off of the sidewalk as a weapon- better something than nothing, even if this girl had a musket. She sidles up next to Biraindo, clutching the branch like a spear, shaking her head.
"I-I can use a spear....and I suppose this will do, for now.

D-don't worry. We'll get through this..."

The girl weakly looks up at Nana, groaning in pain. It seems she's quite wounded, but not fatally.

Her eyes widen as she sees something coming from the smoke..
"MOVE!"
With sudden strength, she pulls herself up and hurls Nana behind her, as a lightning bolt strikes her from the monster in the smoke. She screams in agony, but the bolt seems to be flickering away from her, as if she's resisting the blast somehow.

She slumps again, clutching her musket and aiming into the smoke once more. Her breathing is heavy, as she keeps Nana behind her and the smoke away.

Virgil is thrown back by the force of the lightning bolt, but not injured.

Clair can see more branches, some discarded bricks and one or two fallen iron pokers.

"We can't go back, and believe me, if we could, I would..."
Tohru shudders, shaking her head and continuing to move forward.

The party gets to the corner of the street where the dorm is situated.

They are met with a loud explosion, followed by the brown-haired foreign girl being sent flying through the ensuing smoke and colliding with a pillar, slumping to the ground with a moan. A musket is in her hands, having recently been fired. In the other hand, a silver pocketwatch can be seen, her finger nestled on the knob on top.

Shui would recognise her as Maria, a classmate of hers, while Nana would recognise her as the strange girl who knew about the cards.

Meanwhile, a loud, metallic, positively demonic roar resounds from the smoke. The other gunner seems to have stopped firing.

It seems Biraindo doesn't need any more proof this is real.

"Look, there was something ELSE coming before the gunshots. Odds are, whatever they're firing at, it isn't us."

Tohru sighs and follows them. It seems the barrier is blocking all potential ways of going back- and Virgil's logic has some sense in it.

Tohru follows Nana.
"No time for leaders! We have to get out of here somehow!"

As if responding to Karma, a large, golden barrier grows behind them, preventing them from turning back.

In the distance, the group hears the sounds of something approaching, followed by two pairs of gunshots- a musket, and something fast, like a Tommy gun.

Tohru reaches for him, grabbing his sleeve softly. Her voice is trembling, as is her arm, but it is clear that she is trying to retain some sort of semblance of calm.
"V-Virgil-san is right, w-we have to be calm. We're not g-going to find the answer to this by panicking..."

Afternoon Phase
Tatsumi High Avenue

With that, the party leaves Tatsumi High, to head towards the address given.

Presumably, much small talk is made, with an undercurrent of trepidation. Throughout today, nothing but weird occurrences have happened- the cards, your homeroom teacher, this whole venture in itself.

Seemingly, some sort of link with Millennium is there- the broken clock and all- but what else?

This is probably some prank or misunderstanding, you hope, and you may well be sent home after it's all cleared up. Maybe it is just some stupid school function. Who knows?

Hopefully, all the answers will be given to you soon enough.

Your eyes flutter shut for a moment as you blink for a second-

Achronos
Achronal Phase
Tatsumi High Avenue

-and when you reopen them, all is changed, with nary a sound or a blink. You didn't sense a change, yet it happened all the same. You look around, trying to find it- and notice it immediately.

The first thing you notice is that everything is grey- buildings, streetlights, everything. Everything is bathed in various shades and hues of grey. Only the sky, consisting of nothing but a harsh solid white, is any different. The air is heavy and cold, almost stagnant and hard to breathe in.

The second thing seems to be that you and your companions are the only things in color. You look to each other, confused- you seem to be the only people here. No cars are present, no other pedestrians are walking past you. It is as if you were the only people left on the planet. Silence fills the area; indeed, one could hear a pin drop. This world is dead.

Anyone willing to go look at their watches or phones, or other time-telling devices would see them going haywire; clock-hands spiraling out of control and digital clocks telling impossible times, like 48:65, or being locked at midnight. Time seems to be broken here, too.

This dimension is beyond time and wholly alien to you. You do not belong here.

Tohru looks up, confused. She shivers slightly.
"Huh? What's going on?"

Tohru nods happily.
"Of course."

Meanwhile, in the present, Tohru walks off afterwards, hoping to find answers herself.

The secretary shrugs.
"School procedure."
