As the group and their newfound friends continue to converse, time passes. People pass by, cursing at their luck in Clash of Legends; as Yliss says, the Academy event is on, and from what you can all pick up, the Summer event, whatever that is, is beginning its run-up by rewarding people with Seals, whatever those are. A wagon with a Clash of Legends banner carts by, advertising the game and handing out pamphlets teaching people how to get the game on their personal crystal tablets. All in all, it seems a normal morning in Initia on the surface.

This goes on for about thirty minutes, during which the line hardly budges. You're sure you saw a guy or two relieve themselves into a bottle just to not leave, speaking to the quality of Begninian bee.

Something, all of a sudden, feels wrong. Keith and Keilee, being the closest to the front of the line, begin to notice a commotion up the front of the line. A bunch of adventurers -nothing particularly special about them- are yelling at the goblin in front of the door to the center about something; from the looks of things, something serious is going down. People seem to be going by a little quicker. The faintest hint of smoke fills the air. Rosencrantz is second to notice the oddity.

"....we've been here thirty minutes and nobody's moved. Hey....Keith, right? Do you wanna come up with me and check what's going on? They should've opened by now."

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Initia...
".....and that is a violation of the Begnin Fire Code 662. That's....sixteen violations of the Fire Code. That fire burned down two taverns, an orphanage AND a poor homeless man's box. I'd ordinarily have you turned over to the police, but as the OTHER person we found claimed HE did it, you're off the hook unless we find proof you were involved, and you'd best hope we don't, young woman. You're in serious hot water."

The aged fireman glares at a maid and her horse, while holding up a burnt box, the ashen remnants of an effigy to the goddess Serena within. The three are standing outside one of Initia's many fire stations, a proud tradition of Initia owing to the large quantities of novice mage adventurers who passed through, and with them the drunken bar brawls, the mishaps at training centers and general tomfoolery attempting to impress each other or desirable members of the opposite gender. Not far from the Initia Royal Palace, the irritated tone of the fireman is probably more from the proximity to the seat of political power in the entire kingdom than the actual property damage.

"Before I turn you out to handle yourselves, do you have anything to say for yourselves?"

"That.....does sound like a decent proposal...."

"Well, you mortals seem to like money, so I offered that to get people to help me. I'm a Goddess, I can make and have as much money as I like. Not that I'll let you all spend it; after all, I am a Goddess, not a charity."
