-Isolation Shields lowers our research point requirement before getting the next item
-Batteries absorb power from the lasers or power the barriers that block lasers
-Isotope Manipulation allows us access to explosives better than missiles and potentially flak armor
-Deep Crust Mining allows us access to more exotic materials, potentially lowering the cost of certain items on tonnage
