<Possible. A little difficult, though.>
You get the vague sense of disappointment through Tsukasa's reply.

"So, after all this time, this is your motive; to stop those responsible for your condition and the blade that you wield. Even if it is for the sake of revenge, I cannot deny it would be for a noble cause."
Bertholt suddenly speaks up, having listened silently to the conversation behind Martyn. A lightly troubled expression is on his face.
"I would offer to help you heal your arm, but I know it would be futile. What information can you give us? Even the tiniest bit can be corroborated, through interrogation or investigation, and those responsible for this brought to justice. There can be no more who suffered like yourself.

As a servant of Rhea, ordinarily I would be opposed to violence, but.....if it must be done, for the sake of preventing more violence, then I will do what I can to help."

<It's probably occurred to you by now, but getting my number into your gun is about the only way you'd actually have paid attention to it. If I just put it in a piece of paper, you'd have thrown it away or forgotten about it by now. Also, knowing what little Minato's told me about you and having met you, I know you're the type to check your gun thoroughly after a check-up to see if anyone put bugs in. It was the best place to put it.

As for why? Two reasons. One, so you can call me without asking Minato if you need anything checked or that handy exoskeleton of yours upgraded or something. Two, because as much as I love working on my babies like the Gaia Driver, it gets boring getting HQ on my tail to pump out more stuff or something.>

Minato processes the situation quickly.

He remembers the face from somewhere, but with all the blood on her, he can't quite figure out who she was. She wasn't badly wounded, not really; if she was Awakened, she could take far, far more than a normal human being could. Minato learned THAT lesson many, many times. Even Awakened could only take so much, however, and she looked like she was about to hit the very edge of what she could take.

Her pursuers were mercless. Trained, clearly. They had her cornered like a badger in a trap. Two of them were above her, the other four chasing her down, possibly marking her in sync. Whoever wanted this girl dead, they wanted professionals, and they got them. This would make Minato's job a whole lot harder than it had to be. He files through what he could use.

No time to use the Luin; even with its speed, Minato wouldn't be able to take them out before they landed a shot on her. Rho Aias wasn't going to be enough to defend against all the shots, not all at once, and he didn't have stockpiled weapons to take the blows either. Durandal and Gungnir were only useful against single opponents.

Something tugs in his mind. A loose thread. He recognises it.

It was the same Regalia that had called to him when he needed to stop Stalin from hitting Faith, the chains that he'd instinctively formed. Only thing Minato could think about doing at the moment. He couldn't use it yet, not until he was sure, not until he had a clear shot.

He needed to buy time. Rho Aias was going to be useful, but he needed something more. He needed to improvise.

>Nothing for it. Here goes nothing.<
"HENSHIN!"

Minato rushes forwards, his armor forming around his body as he does, his arms extending forward to tackle the girl to the ground and cover her with his own body.

Alter to 4, use Rho Aias. Push Sakurako to the ground, cover her with Minato's body and Rho Aias, protecting her from attacks from above, to the side or in front of Minato.

Meanwhile....
After what seems like hours, Tsukasa finally replies.

<Got your attention, didn't it? ; ) >

It glows at the point of contact and tastes lightly of steel and ice. Again, you feel as if your time has been utterly and completely wasted.

3728
The orb glows at the point of contact, but does nothing when Ragnar touches it. You have the vague sense of having completely wasted the last two seconds in having done so.

3729
Minato just holds Faith still, letting her hug him tightly, ignoring the fact that her chest was squashed against his armor. Not that he could feel it, but if this were any other situation, this would be heaven.
"Just let it out, let it out. Don't worry. I got you."

"Damn it all. Those mongrels.....

Lucette, what are your orders? And do you have a plan for retreat, should it be necessary?"

Theodore springs to action, sword in hand already, his eyes looking to their current leader for orders. He left the last part unsaid, the unspoken implication of Jack's failure, should retreat be encouraged or even necessary.

The golden translucent form of a chain formed in Minato's hand as Stalin warped towards Faith. Minato's eyes were blazing with fury and determination; he needed to stop Stalin, interrupt him, protect Faith at all costs. He'd let his guard down, but he wasn't done, not yet, not by a long shot. Even without Tsukasa's exosuit, he could still do something. His mind flashed into overdrive, the chain a half-formed fetter from somewhere, Minato hadn't quite processed where or what, but it was something. He flicked his wrist with a roar, reaching out towards Faith, the chain rushing towards Stalin to coil around their last vestiges.

Then Faith was stripped completely naked. The chain stopped in midair, completely straight and rigid for a moment, before fading and crumbling to bits, the show of willpower that had created it completely halted in its tracks.

Faith Tatsumaki was a very beautiful girl in Minato Kumon's eyes. Not that Minato was particularly demanding when it came to looks; slim or large, flat or busty, tall or short, brunette or blonde, Minato was a man who appreciated all women of all shapes and sizes. Besides, he wasn't looking for soemthing in their appearance, but he was looking for a nice girl; a girl he could get on with, so to speak. Not someone digging for the Kumon fortune, nor someone only with him for his looks; someone who liked Minato for who he was. However, he did realise it wasn't exactly easy to find a girl like that, not at his age; most girls (hell, most people) had to learn the lesson that decent people made for better partners than exciting or charming ones. Faith wasn't the most exciting or the most seductive girl, given the circumstances, but she seemed decent enough, kind enough for Minato. She seemed to like him because not because he was Minato Kumon, rich heir to the Kumon family, or because he was hot, but because he was Minato. And that was why Minato liked her. She was, very simply, a decent person. (Forgetting the matter of Noriko for the moment; Minato's feelings towards her were, though not as hostile as hers towards him, still a little conflicted).

That wasn't to say Minato couldn't appreciate the looks of a girl, though. Far from it. He'd gotten in trouble a few times with the ladies for that.

And Faith's looks were, by far, absolutely stupendous.

Minato's eyes drank in the view of Faith's perfect body; her pale, soft skin, her curvy body, her bountiful bosom, her shimmering blonde hair and more besides, more that he'd be focusing on for weeks. For a brief moment, Minato was stunned. She was utterly gorgeous. If this had been better circumstances, Minato could stand here all day, admiring the view. Faith really was beautiful.

Then a reminder that these were not better circumstances came, when the tentacles appeared (and were eliminated), and Faith collapsed in a crying heap.

Minato felt ashamed, briefly, and thankful that his helmet was still on, but right now, Faith was a priority. Noriko seemed fine for the moment, he could catch up with her later. Right now, Faith needed him more. Noriko could be mad at him all she wanted, but Minato would be damned if he let someone sit here, shamed for all the world to see, because he didn't want to upset his friend.

The boy slides towards her, scooping her up in a gentle hug, as gentle as he can manage, letting her use him as something to cry against, all the while shielding her from the prying eyes of the others with his body. He says nothing, does nothing but provide her with protection and contact, and sits there to let her have something to hang on to, while the shock of the day wore off.

Bertholt frowns as Sharne and Kaldach exit the scene, his eyes following them. He had figured it had something to do with the cursed swords that had been as much Kaldach's bane as they had been the enemy's. He didn't pry, however, though every fibre of his being told him to- no, screamed at him to.

This was something Sharne and Kaldach had to sort out on their own, a problem that did not need the illuminating light of Rhea to solve.

Instead, Bert tends to the wounds of those still around, quickly; they might not get the chance to rest, given all the unrest they'd stirred up.

Theo takes a moment to look the fort up and down behind the cover of a rock, his gaze shifting somewhat to Rune, before gazing back at where they would be making camp for the moment. Something had been bothering him since they left Saad behind.

Something had struck him as odd about Rune's earlier conversation with Jack. The likelihood was that she was Govitian, judging from her reaction to Tselino's loss, judging by her claims to blend in better than one of the most seasoned stealth operatives he'd ever met. He was wrong, he figured, about his initial assessment of Rune's reaction. He was getting rusty at reading people, but he'd figured that much. The balance of probability was that Rune was a Govitian; she could just be someone who happened to know somebody from Tselino, who just happened to be skilled at blending into Govitz, even better than a man trained under Joi Hart, but too many coincidences would have to line up, too many for Theo's taste.

The skills threw him off, however. Her magic was unlike anything he'd ever seen indeed; illusions, enough to entrance the eye and induce wonder in the viewer. She'd seem like a mere entertainer, had she not been in a crew of seasoned intelligence operatives, military veterans, mercenaries and the others (Elanee, he figured, was here for her magical knowledge, possibly having heard too much to not be read in, and he still couldn't quite understand what Michael was doing here). But given her claims, given what she was good at, Theodore figured there was something more to her.

Perhaps that she was, possibly, a spy from Govitz.

It seemed the logical conclusion as to why Jack would want her; she would come with the requisite skills needed for a mission of this sensitivity, the mindset of secrecy, paranoia and distrust to prevent the enemy from disrupting them, and knowledge of the territory. How she came to Jack's attention was something currently beyond Theo. Was she a defector? An old friend? Did she get captured? The latter seemed more likely, given her reaction to Jack and given her general aloofness from the group; very hard to want to interact with others when you were practically an attack dog, chained with the promise of execution should you fail. He didn't want to make any more deductions in this line of questioning, not until he had more information.

Theo did a quick mental count of who already knew she was a Govitian; Jack likely knew, given he most likely selected Rune for the mission. Evra probably figured it out already; a soldier of her pedigree would have the knowledge to figure this one out. Bayard probably knew, before Saad put an end to him and silenced him forever. Maybe Keyleth, though if she knew, she wasn't saying a thing. The others were oblivious, most likely, due to inexperience or simply not paying attention. He didn't blame them. Even a man of his talents took a while to figure it out.

Theo mentally slapped himself. He really was getting rusty.

He figured there'd be others who would despise Rune for being one of the enemy; the maid and the wyvern rider seemed paranoid and suspicious enough. He himself wasn't quite sure if he trusted her completely, but, as long as her help continued in battle, and he had no reason to distrust her, he'd continue to give her the benefit of the doubt. He'd keep his mouth shut, for now. Calo, as much as Theo disliked him, was a huge loss to the group. They didn't need more chaos. At the very least, he didn't want to trouble Elanee and Abelard with the fallout. He'd keep an eye on Rune, Theo resolved; he was concerned for her, yes, but if he was right about who she was, there was enough reason to not let her in too closely.

A man of his talents had a responsibility to use those talents for the betterment of others, after all, even if they were your enemies or strangers. She'd rammed that into his head many times, after all, in less words. Hard to forget.

Back into his role. He breathes out, a confident smirk back on his face, an adjustment of his collar, and he returns to helping establish camp, like nothing ever happened, as another observation, not related to Rune this time, filled his head.
"It's been too quiet. Those fools have likely tailed us already, given that we haven't seen hide nor hair of them for a while. This doesn't quite feel right, for a man of my talents."

"Can you move and keep yourself disguised? I'm not familiar with your brand of magic but staying mobile is essential, and I've observed that your illusions haven't been quite so complex. Forgive a man of my talents for being wrong; even my talents cannot be perfect when faced with the unfamiliar."

The corners of Theo's mouth twitch slightly when Rune calls herself expendable. He continues without missing a beat, having already decided to say what he was going to, though the tone of his voice seems to harden, as if he were ever so slightly dismayed.

"We require your talents here. None of you are expendable on this mission, not with so little people on it to begin with, not with the sensitive nature of our objective. Even yourself, Rune. In any case, Jack is the leader, and he has yet to lead us astray. As long as that continues, I will defer to his judgement on this."

Theo's confident gaze softens, just slightly, when he notices Elanee's plight. He breathes out, adjusting his collar slightly. He approaches her somewhat, keeping at a distance, letting her stay closer to Abelard.
"Don't worry about Bayard. He's beyond the reach of the enemy now, at least. Be strong enough, strong enough to finish this mission, return home and give him the proper sendoff those pigs denied him. Anything less would be a disservice to your talents and yourself."
