If Theo is mildly perturbed by Lucette's glare, he's not showing it through his usual, overconfident smirk.
"Nonetheless, he's the best candidate to go on his own; even a man of my talents must concede it to him. You're not wrong to be concerned for him, but it's an unavoidable risk, unless we want them to catch us off guard and for us to lose more of our own."

"Have some faith in our leader. I've heard enough about him through....reputation, we shall say. A man of his talents has his methods of escaping the attention of mere mongrels."

"Understandable how such a list might bring a nation to its knees. You never know how long games of "Likes-Me-Not" might consume the council."

"Now, now, not so hasty, Roux. And.....they were trying to steal your diary?"

Haruko and Amelie
The man looks irritated, before stuffing the wooden panel back into his pants.
"You're the strangest things I've seen all day and you're still not the mole people! Damn it all. I was hoping to use you to find the tunnels, but since you're not the mole people, it won't help. Oh well.

Take care, both of you. You know those mole people can be dangerous! They'll take your brain fluids and drink 'em up like Coke, you know! Happy hunting!"

The homeless man saunters away, back towards the hospital, picking up the remains of his bush disguise. Despite his scruffy appearance, he seems rather athletic, and he's out of your sight before soon enough. You're probably confused as to what that meant, or if he had anything to do with the Zoanthropes. Not that it would surprise you either way.

Half an hour later, a nearby cafe....
You all meet up at a cafe you agreed to meet up at earlier, presumably to discuss your findings. Maki left a message on the group, telling you she's going to be late due to something that came up earlier. The cafe is a pretty average one; a display of delicious-looking cakes and pastries are displayed at the counter, a bored-looking girl manning the counter. The cafe is relatively empty for a holiday, the only other people there being a lovey-dovey couple who seem to be all over each other, a woman with their face buried into a newspaper and an old man dozing off in the mid-afternoon sun, lightly snoring.

Lapis left earlier, promising to return later with Spica, while Agatha has disappeared off with a sudden message from her parents- something about a sudden family matter back in their home country- leaving the group. The rest of you should either be there already or waiting for the rest, getting ready to discuss your findings.

"He knew the risks, going out here on this mission. We all did. Only a fool would deny that this had risks.

Still, that's one more sin these mongrels must be punished for."

"We shouldn't chase them, not in our current condition. If he has allies nearby, we'd be running right into them like fools, ill-prepared for battle. We should catch our breath, plan our route, ensure the mongrels can't track us so easily."

"He's right, as much as I believe that the mongrels they plan to send will fall just as easily. If we face them at the station, we face them on their home ground, possibly with the full brunt of their forces behind them. We should advance slowly, whittle their forces down as much as we can, and make our job at the end easier."

"Your healing is appreciated, Lucette. A man of my talents knows when one is worthy of respect. You'll get your chance to engage these mongrels yourself, one day. That, I look forward to."

And then, Theo goes to check on Rune, his confident expression lending him swagger unbefitting of his current beaten state.

"How are you, comrade? Did those mongrels trouble you unduly?"

"As far as we know. I've heard rumours of magic that extends life-I've even been responsible for disproving a few fools attempting to peddle their pathetic excuses for magic, but possibly.....hm, no. Never mind. Forget I said anything.

Tch. Legends or not, they're only human. If they bleed, we can kill them. They're doing nothing but playing with forces nobody should possess; that alone is enough to convince me they'll come up short."

Theo limps off to rest for a moment by a rock, planting his sword in the ground for a moment with more force than explicitly necessary, the grim fire in his eyes fading to embers, leaving the usual smug, mischievous glint to match his ever-present smirk.

His eyes flit over to Rune for a second (is that shame in his eyes?) before he returns to looking in the distance, treating himself with the remains of the vulnerary he'd used, patching up his wounds and catching his breath.

"Mongrels....d-don't you dare lay a finger on these people..."
Theo yanks himself to his feet for the umpteenth time, clutching his sword with one hand as the other hung useless, Saad's knife having rent a tear in the back of his shoulder and the pain having, for the moment, rendered that arm useless. A grim look filled his eyes as he steadied himself, trying to predict the next blow that would inevitably send him down into the mud once more, his expression not filled with furious hate nor hot-blooded, fiery passion, like one would expect from the loud narcissist of a man who declared himself of godly talents.

It was the cold, impassionate determination of a man who had had all their rebellious spirit torn away long ago, the hole left filled with nothing but the singular drive to continue.

Ai and Kiyo
The guy scurries away, visibly relieved that he did not meet his fate at the hands of Kamijou Ai that day.

Or the other girl with her. He figured that, whoever she was, she was probably just as strong if they were friends.

Haruko and Amelie
The man blinks at you, as if trying to comprehend what you just said. Then he starts tutting at you, as if you'd said the moon was made out of cheese.
".....you don't know about the mole people? They've been here for centuries! The mole people of Touto! I hear they come out at night, to steal food from the hospital. That's why I was here, to stop them. I thought you were the mole people, skulking around, looking for your secret tunnels under the hospital!"

Hatchet the spearman

Ai and Kiyo
The guy pauses his panic for a second. He stares at Ai for a moment, as if not quite understanding. For him, it would be akin to a wolf asking him about the weather in Kamogawa while taking a pause in mauling him.
".....you want to know why I'd be visiting a hospital? U-uh....okay?

A-a friend of mine got moved here recently, a-around the same time the Zoanthropes started attacking. Y-you can even ask for her! H-her name's Haru Arima, room 23, first floor nowpleasedonthurtme!"

Ito
The door feels unnaturally solid to you as you lay traps on it. Still, it doesn't react to you touching it specifically, nor does it react as you leave the traps on it.

Haruko and Amelie
The man groans as he looks up through his bush of a head at the two girls. He gingerly takes Amelie's hand, pulling himself up. He seems to be a tall man, of decent physique for a man who seems to be homeless.

He grumbles, looking down at them, scratching his beard and absentmindedly flipping the panel of wood away from them.
".....you don't look like the mole people."
