[Now Playing: ~The cyborg fights~]
Yui, once more seeing the opportunity to end the fight here, strums her Final Crescendo, boosting everyone's power once more!

[Now Playing: Yui Override ~God Mode~]

For a brief moment, you feel invincible, the final blow about to be landed on the enemy, victory on the horizon.

But only a brief moment. Several problems start dawning on you.

Two problems, to be exact.

One, three of you aren't even attacking.

Two, the last time you tried this, a giant biomechanical space whale threw you and everyone else around like a ragdoll before stomping on you and you specifically.

[Now Playing: Enhanced Zoanthrope Override ~Atal Ka Theme (Phase 3)~]

The Zoanthrope reacts to your attempt to finish the fight off in kind, with a loud, sharp, piercing blast of wind, so loud that the glass of the surrounding buildings (not the hospital, which had been reinforced coinciding with the new building regulations introduced after the Musca Zoanthrope attack) shatters, and so forceful that Ragnar and Maki are blasted off of it, so loud that everyone is staggered and visibly hurt by the blast. Ragnar manages to hang on to the wing, barely, thrusting his spear into it as he almost flies off, as Maki is sent flying off of it, crashing into the hospital roof, destroying an exhaust vent.

Ragnar tries to swerve the giant dragon-bat to the side, but the Zoanthrope isn't done. It blasts him directly on with a burst of intense, scorching heat, but Ragnar is able to endure it, the pain coursing through his body as he resists the heat. Trying to wrench people off, the Zoanthrope tries a desperate manoeuvre; the winds that protect it from projectiles suddenly heat up.

Ragnar barely has time to react.

The blast of scorching wind smashes into the whole group, finally throwing Ragnar off, his spear dropping with him as he tumbles onto the roof above the emergency room entrance, sliding off the roof into the ground, a wall of hot burning air smashing into the remainder of the group. You're not too badly hurt, you know you can take a blow, but you're not looking too good either. As for everyone else? You're not much better either.

Haruko, however, is not to be one-upped. And Amelie isn't done yet.

[Now Playing: Squad Override ~Rules of Nature~]

The Zoanthrope attempts to continue flying, the jet engine on its back bursting into life as it attempts to evade the party when suddenly, a force begins tugging from it below. It notices this for a few seconds, trying to use its wing and angle its engine up to escape the increasing pull of gravity upon it and succeeding for another few seconds, the sheer strength within the Zoanthrope allowing it to resist Amelie's power.

Then the mother of all barrages hits it from below.

Haruko unleashes blast after blast of plasma into its already weakened underside, the powerful winds that it used to soak her and Kiyo's attacks having been used up to throw off its attackers now gone. This was what Haruko was best at, what she knew how to do; she was no good at hitting a fast opponent, but an opponent, hurt and wounded and pinned down? She didn't need to try to hit that. They were fish in a barrel, and Haruko was unleashing a nuclear missile.

The Zoanthrope shrieks, heavily wounded and unable to stay in flight as it plummets, clipping off a small part of the hospital roof as it smashes into the asphalt of the parking lot, sliding across the lot and smashing an unfortunate orderly's bike. Maki and Ragnar manage to scrabble to their feet, Maki standing over the roof of the hospital as she watches the Zoanthrope tumble towards the ground below....

As Amelie, Yui and Haruko arrive behind, they are suddenly beset upon by miniature blasts of scorching heat as the smaller bats begin to catch up. They are riddled with blasts of heat, each attack weak but the whole barrage strong, only for bursts of plasma to start erasing them as Kiyo floats behind, a flying fortress of death; despite the more powerful Zoanthrope's attacks having managed to hurt her, these weak swarms do nothing to her shell. The swarms turn their attention to her, their attention drawn towards her. Perhaps you should use this moment to start hitting the Zoanthrope.

Meanwhile, the crippled Zoanthrope pulls itself to its feet, beginning to try to flap its hurt wings to take off once more, the wounds Ragnar and Haruko having inflicted on it having managed to stop its escape, as it turns back towards the hospital, trying to fly towards the other end of the building.

[Now Playing: Ito Override ~That Person's Name Is~]
With the rest of the party reeling from the meteor impact, Zoanthrope attack and what-not, it's up to Ito to protect the group from the approaching troopers. He focuses gently, calmly, preparing to rip and tear-

Then a giant dinosaur takes out about four of them, the robots exploding on impact with such powerful force, as Ai casually walks- almost saunters- down the street, the T-rex clattering into pieces as it smashes over a lamppost on the other side of the street. A car alarm or two goes off. Ai might need to apologise to the neighbours after this.

Oh, and then December starts ripping his way through another three, sprinting back in the direction they came. The dumplings were avenged, but his boss was going to be plenty pissed if they had to give up a free delivery.

That makes the moment less cool.

Back to work.

A layer of fine dirt starts covering the wounded as Agatha wrenches herself onto her feet, the dirt beginning to absorb the remains of the acidic venom. Spica groans, nodding as she accepts Sato's help and pulls herself up, mustering enough power to hold up barriers, though still clearly stunned by the explosion. Sato himself rushes into the fight to assist Ito, cutting a robot in half with his arrival.

Two of the groups, one of whom Sato just attacked, surge past the two, to get at the weakened back line, one aiming at Agatha and unleashing a hurricane of laser blasts, eating away at her defenses, the dust and barrier being eaten away as the intensity of the barrage continues and the other running for the downed Zoanthrope while Agatha is held down, picking up their unconscious ally. Before Ito and Sato can turn to assist, the two remaining groups, not too weakened by Ai's dynamic enttry, open a barrage of blasts upon Ito and Sato.

The force of the blasts begin to bruise Ito through his armor, though ever so slightly. He manages to reach out and slash one or two, but the others hold their assault up, coordinating their attacks to keep Ito and Sato unable to maintain their defense, encircling the two to pin them in with gunfire and leave them no room to attack.

The armor's time is running out; once your armor's gone, you've got no chance of surviving this barrage. These robots were surrounding you.

Time to come up with a better strategy.

Meanwhile, on December's adventure to retun back to the dumpling house, he encounters one final group of soldiers, training their guns on him, seemingly a straggling group of reinforcements to assist their brethren.

You got 21 minutes left. Maybe 20.

Those dumplings aren't going to deliver themselves.

"Amelie, I'm going to need you to STOP pulling this thing down! We're going to plow into the hospital! Haruko, good job with the plasma, just keep this thing as far away from the hospital as you can, and remember that arm cannon you have! New guy, I'm sorry, but if you do THAT, you're going to crash this thing hard into a few other buildings!"
Maki holds on for dear life as she tries to steer the Zoanthrope up, looking around to see where she could try to get this thing, once she got the altitude. Quick thinking, quick thinking. Think like a professional. Mitigate the damage, as much as possible, steer the thing away. She looks around and finds....

A parking lot.

The hospital parking lot, to be precise. Yes, something was going to get damaged. But it was better it was asphalt and a bunch of cars than a hospital ward full of terminal patients.

If this thing was trying to pull up, the plasma from below should keep it propelled up, long enough for it to fly over the hospital and into the park. It was a long shot, and Maki wasn't sure she'd do it, but at this point it was better than nothing.
Steer the Zoanthrope up as best as possible, using Haruko's plasma shots to propel it up and buy time for a course redirection.

Think quick, Kumon. Think quick.

Minato looks around. Civilians. They needed to get out of here, now.

Behold, citizens! It is I, Masked Knight Gaia! Please, step out of the room for your own safety! My allies and I are apprehending a very dangerous villain and get out of here!"

Right. Use your reputation to get them out. Okay, that should work. Now onto the real problem.

The pair of supernatural panties swinging around Mary like a deranged flail.

Minato does a few quick mental calculations.

He needed to stop either the Storm Mind or Mary dead in their tracks. He could do that, easily, but who? The Storm Mind was too small a target, and judging from the way Noriko was hanging back, she wasn't going to be too much help for the moment, so her accuracy wasn't going to be available; no tricks using a thrown spear here, then. That left Mary. The best way to stop her would be to cushion the blow onto something; likely himself. Shef had a portal set-up, so at least Minato had a back-up plan should this one fail.

Here goes nothing.
"Yuki, get ready to heal me. Noriko, Shef, if I screw this up, I'm counting on you! Miss Appleton, please relax as much as possible! I'm going to catch you!"

Summon Rho Aias and get between Mary and the civilians. Minato braces himself to soak as much of Mary's momentum as possible, using the shield to take most of the blow.

[Now Playing: ~The cyborg fights~]
Ragnar tries to hold on with his constructs, bugs trying to cling onto the Zoanthrope's legs, but between the Zoanthrope actively trying to shake him off, the fact that he's trying to use bugs to cling onto its legs, and the fact that he's currently not in his element of flying, the Zoanthrope manages to throw him off easily, casting him aside like chaff-

-as Maki catches him with her free hand, her other fist sparking with electricity, before blasting upwards once more and dropping both her and it onto the Zoanthrope's back again. Maki starts punching as hard as she can, but the Zoanthrope doesn't seem to be going down quick enough, despite the repeated blows Maki's landing to its back, and tries to buck Maki and Ragnar off, screeching at Ragnar loudly enough to damage his armor and stagger him, almost throwing him completely off had he not managed to catch onto its feet again, right back where he started. Maki, meanwhile, grabs its ears and tries to force it to fly up by pulling its head up, forcing the Zoanthrope to screech in pain but do exactly as Maki intends it to do.....

....right on top of Haruko's blast, boosted as Yui's music increases their power, a shield surrounding them.

The harsh winds manage to slightly mitigate the blow, but getting a burst of hot plasma directly onto its body can't be helpful. Indeed, the blast explodes almost entirely into its belly, soaking the burst and preventing it from getting too far out of control. Ragnar evades it as Maki shifts the Zoanthrope away just enough that he swings away from the plasma, escaping being burned.

The Zoanthrope unleashes a shrill roar as its burned, scorched underside smokes, absorbing most of the blast, too distracted to evade Amelie smashing her feet into its underside, the pull of gravity as she retreats back beginning to wrench it down towards earth, towards the hospital, which Maki (and anyone who's lived in Touto long enough) recognises.

Touto University Hospital, one of the best hospitals in the nation, where the best and brightest doctors of Japan, possibly the world, were trained. They specialised in rare diseases that most other hospitals and doctors were poorly-equipped and unable to treat.

This was bad.

To make problems worse, the bats seem to have similar abilities to the giant Zoanthrope, heated blasts of air scorching and burning Amelie on her way towards them. They manage to sweep out of her way, being swifter in the air even than her-

And then Kiyo transforms into a giant fortress of laser firing and incinerates the whole swarm without trying. Well then. Good thing is, the swarm's gone.

Bad thing is, three more have come to take its place, and the bat's still about to crash into a hospital.

[Now Playing: ~The cyborg fights~]
Sato doesn't even pause for a moment as he slices Ito's webbing open. It was tough and sticky webbing, but his sword was sharp. His sword does catch quite a bit of it though; might need a little shaking off and cleaning. That's just plain annoying.

As Ito wrenches himself to his feet, he takes a look at his coat. The venom, acid, whatever it was, is slowly fading away, leaving a rather unsightly cut in his coat.

This. Can. Not-you know the drill.

[Now Playing: Ito Override ~That Person's Name Is~]

The golden armor descends upon Hideyuki, transforming him into the Makai Knight of Touto, the defender of the night against the shadows of Horrors who prowled it for prey, to hunt down the weak.

It was time to bring an end to this fight.

A meteor descends from the sky, Agatha mounting it, screaming as she tries to drive it towards the Zoanthrope. The hospital is close, too close. Just a little bit closer. Just a little longer. Just a little faster, and the meteor would stop the Zoanthrope, would stop whatever it had planned, whatever it was trying to do. Maybe it was trying to regroup, or extract, or something, but whatever the case, it would not do it.

Hideyuki sprints up the side of the house, leaping up into the air to join Agatha, plunging his blade into the meteor to drive it straight into the Zoanthrope, two of its red beady eyes twinkling as the sheer weight of the world descends upon it. Agatha's screams, Ito's roar, the Zoanthrope's slowing pace and seeming fearful look as its end seems to descend upon it; it all made for a majestic image of triumph, one that came straight out of one of the better action-based anime. Even December is trying to join in, hopping across fences, his dumplings driving him on.

It's all over.

[Now Playing: Enhanced Zoanthrope Override ~Naming Sense Gata Boshi Gokuseifuku~]

Except that glint in its eyes isn't fear.

It's bloodlust.

Ito may not be fazed -he's faced many an insane, hungry Horror before-, but Agatha notices this.

Ito, however, does notice its arms growing back quickly and the arms that were hanging limply suddenly perking up. Too quickly. Far too quickly.

And they both notice the Zoanthrope leaping directly to meet the meteor, razor-sharp talons glowing with energy-

The meteor explodes as the Zoanthrope slashes through it with all eight of its arms, a crackling noise (was that laughter?) emerging from its mandibles as it cuts straight through the heavy rock like a hot knife through so much butter. Four of its arms are torn off by the effort, incinerated in the blast, holes torn into its body by the shrapnel, but it wasn't done yet, not by a long shot. No, it wanted more.

More.

Agatha and Ito are thrown aside as the meteor explodes, Agatha taking the brunt of the explosion, Ito catching her lightly and dropping her on the ground as they land, flaming rocks showering the road. Even Spica is hit, thrown off her barrier platforms and thrown to the ground by the sheer force of the explosion, sent tumbling away from her safe post.

The Zoanthrope stands there menacingly, two of its arms already growing back. It now occurs to Ito that this beast is taller than he is, by a long shot, but this shouldn't intimidate him. No, a true Makai Knight is not intimidated by a mere monster.

So he rushes at it, trying to bring his blade down on it, but the Zoanthrope goes all in too. Its four remaining arms smash directly into Ito's gut as he raises his blade, throwing him back. The acidic venom on its talons seems to be mitigated by the Soul Metal, but the sheer force of the attack manages to ring Ito straight through his armor (which shouldn't be possible, what the hell WAS this thing?), forcing him to stagger back, shaking his head, completely vulnerable-

-And then a blade slices its torso open, sheer explosive force blowing out a chunk of its side, forcing the Zoanthrope to stagger back before it can finish what it started as-

[Now Playing: Sato Override ~Til When?~]

-Sato appears, the red fading from his blade, the explosion of the meteor having been captured in his blade and directed into the Zoanthrope's body.

The Zoanthrope screeches in pain and lashes out with its remaining arms, raking Sato, Ito, December and Agatha across their fronts, acidic venom burning them and Sato barely being spared as Spica's barrier shatters. Ito wastes no time, taking the opportunity to end it now; the Zoanthrope was already regenerating its wounds from Sato, taking the meteor on and lashing out, but Agatha isn't quite done yet, as she forces a large chunk of the shattered meteor to smash into the Zoanthrope, crippling its remaining arms.

Now was his chance.

He rushes forth.

[Now Playing: Squad Override ~You Say Run~]

He steels his mind.

He clenches his hands around his blade's hilt.

His allies had set the perfect mark. It was time to finish.

The Zoanthrope's arms grow back quickly, too quickly, but Ito didn't have time to notice such petty distractions as he evaded their blind lashes.

Now was the time to end the fight decisively.

He drives his sword directly into the Zoanthrope's gut, twisting up to cripple it. The Zoanthrope screeches, flailing as Ito wrenches his blade out, clutching at its stomach as it kneels to the ground, the wounds regenerating but not fully, not even close. All the bloodlust is gone from its eyes, replaced with a burning, seething hatred, but Ito didn't care as he whipped his blade to the side, cleansing it of blood like the samurai of old.

His job was done, with sixty seconds to spare.

The Aranea Zoanthrope has been defeated.

As for Ai? Well, her part was very, very simple. Hardly worth mentioning, really.

One moment, the robot troopers were blasting her with lasers and an explosive or two.

The next, they had all mostly exploded. A giant robotic T-rex's corpse ripping their torsos apart may have had something to do with that.

As Ai puts down the T-rex to bar any further soldiers from getting past her, she hears the sound of footsteps....behind her. She looks behind and, well, she sees soldiers piling in right where the group had just run off to. And there were more of them, too.

Oh bother. More thugs to deal with. And she had to move too.

Oh well. Better deal with it now than later.

Karen just looks flabbergasted. Utterly and totally flabbergasted.

Minato sighs.
"Alright. A fight, then."
He immediately armors up and heads back in.

"Haruko! Careful! You're going to set someone's HOUSE on fire! If you can, get under him and fire up!"
Of course, Maki couldn't worry about that right now. In any case, she couldn't exactly stop Haruko's collateral damage.

At this point, they would've lured the Zoanthrope elsewhere; an empty, large space, where Haruko could do as much as she liked, and Maki could go all-in; after all, Maki's power was equally as destructive, but whereas Maki's strength was concentrated into her fists, Haruko's.....wasn't. Indeed, Maki had to take care not to pulverise walls with her punches unless absolutely necessary.

In any case, a Zoanthrope needed taking down right now. The newcomers had the smaller Zoanthropes handled, so there was just the big guy.

And like that, she just got an idea.
"New guy, hang on. It'll get bumpy, but I think I have a way to take this thing down without burning the place down! Brace yourself!"
Rising Voltaic Charge onto the Zoanthrope and start wrenching it up. Alter to 5.

Minato links his comms up to Shef.

Yes, Minato was a pervert. Yes, he had several fetishes, including maids. Yes, he wouldn't deny that he liked hanging out with women who were easy on the eyes.

But this. This was a step too far.
"Shef, get Yoake, because she's the only one NUTS enough to pull this off. The seal- you're not going to believe this- is in Mary's panties."
