He contemplates showing her the business card, but doing so, he rationalises, would cause more pain than simply letting Gelid be.
True, he failed to protect her, but it isn't a mistake that needs to be rectified with more of them.
Of course, all of this thought doesn't show on his blank, neutral face. "You're welcome, Mistress." He stands by the door, standing vigil over her.
