There's always trends in magic, usualy regionaly I'd reckon. I mean, native americans summoned spirtitual totem animals to enhance their body with abilities corresponding to that animal (or so I assume). I'd reckon nobody in the USA really cares for that kinda magic anymore.
Regional trends are somewhat lesser than global, which is what I discussed :P
Although you could kinda wrangle totem animals into occultism...

Then suddenly she sees an equally as illusory block of tofu.

"You're also an interesting, handsome, kind person who saved me. I may not like that you killed people.....but I do like- no, love you, Lucinda..."

I wonder... would the virgin sacrifices used to bind Demons Run have been a representation of the trends at the time? Had it been in the 1000-1100s, would they have instead chucked random, vaguely magical materials at her whilst trying to use the economic power of philosopher's stones? Were it the 1500-1600s would they have tried to conjure infernal power to restrain her? In the later nineties, would they have tried shoving her into a television and having her bicker with her shadow whilst they gathered a bunch of psychiatrists of counsel the two?
Change the latter to 'waited until midnight and then shoved her into a tower full of manifestations of humanity's negative emotions' and that might actually be hilarious enough to be canon.

Lucinda sits next to Yukari. "So, how are you feeling?"
"I'm quite tired....good thing you're here~"
With that, Yukari uses Lucinda as a cushion to rest her head.

So... would occultism and alchemy amount to fashion trends? :P
Quote from: Magic Weekly
Faustian contracts are the new black.
You could say so. :P

Complete with alchemists calling occultists 'jumped up whippersnappers' and occultists calling them 'crotchety old-fashioned seniors'.

The final GM decision is that it is called the Wall of Stars, by humans, specifically Earth-bound humans, of the magical persuasion.

Feel free to quote that. I am not changing my stance; I am rather fed up with this argument over something that frankly, won't affect anyone; I would understand if Will's backstory was changed by the Wall, but I really don't otherwise.

To put the magical world's development into perspective, Personas developed twenty odd years ago. The last biggest breakthrough was in the 1500-1600s with the rise of occultists, Ars Goetia and shit, and before that, 1000-1100s with the rise of medieval alchemists.

Last warning, take it to the PMs or get the thread locked. It doesn't matter as regardless of how the argument goes I am not changing it. Also, while you're at it, both of you, I would consider taking a break; if the game is really stressing you out that badly.

This really isn't a nice thing to wake up to.

Also, Kj. Cho'Gath more superior than you~

Mara's rifle disappears into her sleeve and she pounces off, landing on the ground. She hisses, somewhat like a cat.

Suddenly, Mara, watching everyone pulls their sniper rifle. Because they're practically the size of a housecat, the gun seems even bigger, especially when she seems to be wielding it one-handed.

The rifle is trained on the woman's temple.
"You entirely sure your prey is worth it?"

Actually, since I'm in a pretty bad mood at present, I'm going to be draconian. Take all discussion of this issue to the PMs or I lock the OOC thread until I see fit to re-open it.

As stated earlier, it looks. like a wall.
of stars.
You know what else looks like stars? Planets, asteroids, distant galaxies, and even satellites.
You know what we don't call stars? Any of those things.
You know what doesn't look like a star? The Sun.
You know what we call a star? That thing.

Akroma just explained it. Also, a typical mortal, around the time this guy found it, would NOT name those things 'planets', so it'd probably be called the 'Wall of Stars'.
Which brings up the question of why we still call it that. We don't call Beijing Peking anymore, we don't call orcas killer whales, we don't call galaxies stars. Want more examples?

We still call cobalt, cobalt even though we know know it has nothing to do with kobolds. We still call atoms, atoms even though we have shown that they are not indivisible.
Also, we do indeed call orcas killer whales, and the magic world is fairly stagnant.

Lucinda continues watching the rehearsal.
She got back to the cafe ages ago; its a couple of hours before the concert and she's chilling out.

"Good luck. Nobody has found it yet. Not even the god of knowledge, who's supposed to be omniscient."
