Richard agreed with Ixion. Ixion had been his Persona, the one that embodied him; all others were just facades that he used, shards of his real personality. Ixion was him, and he knew best, even if, in the end, his mind and his Personae were still seperate entities.
Despite feeling sorry for Cyrielle and Ashley, he couldn't simply abandon Camille like that, not after two years in the Lost and Found, not after he'd nearly gone insane with grief because she died. He tries to remain close with the two other girls.
Taking the advice of his aloof, belligerent facade, Richard slowly began to cut ties with everyone. He told himself it was to stop them being hurt, despite Cyrielle's accusations to other, more selfish motivations. He grew distant, and began to keep to himself more than he had done before.
Richard smirked. This was like another harem show, the difference being that he was neither a pervert, an idiot nor an unlucky everyman. Unlucky, fine. Everyman? No.
This way, all of them were happy about his decision, though Cyrielle showed her doubts.
Richard was surprised at his own choice. Cyrielle and he had become as thick as thieves over the last couple of months, but he was undecided as to whether or not he returned her feelings. Knowing that he did now, he felt....bittersweet.
He felt happy that he and Cyrielle had gotten together, after a huge amount of vaguely flirtatious behaviour and teasing, but yet he couldn't shake the feeling that he had betrayed Camille by doing this. He tries to keep a close connection to Camille while going through whatever may come with Cyrielle.
Richard realized that, though the retconning of their relationship was intended to make the ship get more developed, the time and the place had come for it to become a true couple. As above, he still feels very guilty over 'betraying' Camille like that, and he still feels like Cyrielle really was hurt...
"Fine. And fine too, Cyrielle. A bit....stuffy.""I'm rooting for Ashley, personally."
