Hestia made it. She was tired, but not enough to rest.
She was at the cave where the Krigs had been awakened.
The cave where Matt died.
She ventured in, slowly. Whatever had destroyed the hearth could still be around.
When she was sure nobody else was around, she looked into the crater.
Where the rocks had crushed Matt, there was a hole in the center.
Hestia threw a fireball into it to light it.
She found two dead rats, crushed by the stones.
And no corpse.
Matt was gone.
Maria giggled.
