Don't worry, if I have my way Matt will end up in a relationship with Selina. He'll just have to share with Maria. Or the other way around. At this point, I don't know.

Anima turned to Matt, a steely look in her eyes.
"I will KILL the person who dares touch my brother. Alistair will NOT come to harm. If he does, then war or no war, there will be retribution."

"I trust the army to protect Alistair. If they do not, and he comes to harm........"

Anima gripped her staff, and her voice turned as chilly as winter.

"......there will be blood."

"Can we hail the Alliance? If so, then we may be able to preempt war. The Layars are aggressive, but probably not stupid."

Anima released herself from Selina's hug.
"And the child does not comfort the mother. I cannot, and will not allow it."
She smiled, before turning to Strafe.
"So, how do we proceed to wake the sleeping giants?"

Anima was touched by Selina's gesture. She didn't know how to react.

Maria did, however, and pressured Anima into action. She hugged her back.
"T-thank you....I was...tense there. I haven't been hugged in....well, I can't remember. I've lived so long and never had the comfort of..."

Anima choked a bit, trying to retain composure.

"I would rather that none died and I am aware that his suggestion holds merit, but this presumes they have weapons that six magical users can counter. And as Maria tells me, Legion's home planet is likely Earth."

"You assume that they do not have weapons that disable ours. EMP. Bunker busters. Fuel-to-air bombs. Other weapons we cannot even begin to imagine. They could probably easily glass our planet, the reason not to being that we are simply quarry to fight with!'
