Wendell ignored the protests of the mage and dragged him away from the area. He didn't want to be stuck there too long, and he wanted answers. He was still considering his next destination, but at this point, he wanted to know what the hell was going on.

The goblin trudged onto the road, dragging the mage with him as fast as he could.

When both were safely away, Wendell propped the mage up by a rock, taking out his knife and leering at the mage.
"I want answers. You can give them to me or I can abandon you to die. Your choice, mage. You haven't particularly given me much reason to let you live after binding me. Oh, and one magic trick and I slit your throat. You know I will.

So tell me; what do you want with me? Why hunt a goblin who was likely to die anyway?"

Maria slowly faded back into her mind as Anima stood fast, clutching her staff. Chiron and Alistair were by the manhole entrance.
"And you do not act like the kind of people who would be. Show yourself and present thy name!"

Anima deferred to Chiron's judgement.
"So, great teacher, what do you make of this?"
"The wounded girl is salvageable. The beast is likely elsewhere in the tunnels. I suggest summoning Hestia to heal her, and Abraxas to combat the beast, as we are unaware of what it is."
"And what will you do, my friend?"
"I will stay here and protect them, if that is fine. I would normally accompany you into battle, Mistress Anima, but as you have allies, I suggest I be left to protect your brother, the fairy and the wounded girl."
Anima nodded, before turning to Angel. Chiron set about, patrolling the area for the beast.
"Ah, a new ally to add to our party."
At this point, Maria's kinder side took helm.
"Oh, hey there. I'm Maria. Didn't notice you guys there, sorry."

Alistair looked up.
"Oh hi!"

Chiron and Anima looked at Angel poking her head in.

((And with that, I have class. See you guys in three hours.))

"I'm sure I don't count. I'm an ancient figure that barely anyone knows."

Anima giggled.
"You're cute, you know."

She slashed her staff in the air and a large, armoured centaur carrying a bronze staff leaped out of the air over her.
"I am Chiron. Who calls for my services?"


Alistair was still amazed at all the cool powers that everyone had.
