I'm the one who wrote Makoto, so PTW.
Also, I did declare my intention to drop Makoto, so I'm posting my alternate sheet here.
Name: Ryuto Inui / Tatsuya Ogami
Age: 20
Personality:
Ryuto: Ryuto comes off as a decent, if troubled young man. He is rather polite and unassuming. To his friends, he is protective, and to his loved ones, a kind man who seems a little awkward at times. Ryuto also possesses a strong sense of justice, wishing to protect others who cannot fight for themselves. He occasionally blanks out, staring into the distance as he remembers long-past traumas, but for the most part, one would not ever notice without asking that he survived a brush with the horrors that once racked his homeworld. Under the surface, Ryuto is concerned that his lack of talent renders him useless to his allies, a doubt he held long before fighting for Harmony and exacerbated by the often colored backgrounds of many of his allies. He attempts to make up for his lack of power and talent with hard work, but his fear remains constant. Not helping this is the constant looming threat of his ‘other half’, the entity called Tatsuya.
Tatsuya: Tatsuya is the radical opposite of Ryuto, his progenitor. Where Ryuto believes in justice, Tatsuya is more concerned with benefiting and enriching himself. Ryuto’s politeness and kindness are not to be seen here, replaced with brashness and often psychopathic ruthlessness against his opponents. Tatsuya is confident in his powers and is deft in employing his many skills. Outside of a fight, Tatsuya is lazy, unwilling to do anything unless given sufficient incentive. He is mischievous, taking to singing taunting nursery rhymes to insult his opponents and taunting Ryuto in mental conversation. However, one trait stands out that both men share; Tatsuya is as protective, if not more, of his loved ones than Ryuto is.
Description:
Ryuto and Tatsuya look much the same, with some essential differences. Ryuto stands at 5’9’’, but the Beast Cells implanted into him as part of the project that increased his power increase his height as Tatsuya to 6’0”. His short brown hair, well-kept and straight in normal form, is messy and frizzy as Tatsuya. Ryuto’s lithe build, albeit with the toning expected from a boy who participates in occasional sport, bulks up as the Beast Cells within his body strengthen his muscles in Tatsuya form. Ryuto’s quiet smile turns into a full on psychopathic grin as the bloodthirst takes over his other self, and while the saner half stands up straight, Tatsuya often assumes a more bestial, primal stance. His voice also assumes a similar change, from a somewhat deep, but still reassuring warm baritone to a much deeper, guttural growl. Finally, Ryuto’s soft hazel eyes turn to a vivid green as he transforms into Tatsuya.
Backstory:
There was a project initiated by the Nozama Corporation, a world leader in many fields such as biochemistry, neurology and medicine. The goal was simple; to allow people access to superhuman powers and skills beyond normal human functionality. The aim was simple; infuse 4000 people as test subjects with a serum, created from Beast Cells- a project of the Corporation to allow soldiers at war to survive longer by toughening their skin, bulking up their muscles and increasing their regenerative capability- and, by targeted modification of the brain, amplify one's brainpower. The aim was to create a true hope for the future; if the project succeeded, then it would prove that the old system was obsolete. The 4000 subjects were intended to create a new utopia, one that was more egalitarian than the current system.
Disaster struck, the night prior to the first distribution. A group disagreeing with the Corporation's aims sabotaged the serum; when it was infused into people, the modifications to the brain seemed to have no effect, and the physical modifications were similarly useless. The project seemed a failure, and all 4000 subjects went home disappointed, with no change to their capability, physical or mental. CEO Takeshi Nozama, the main driver of the project, was fired and replaced by a sterner man who wished to keep an eye on all the 4000 who had been experimented upon and had seemingly no improvement.
One of the 4000 test subjects was an academy student by the name of Ryuto Inui. Ryuto had few friends, either at his school or otherwise, as many thought a powerless and skilless person was useless and unworthy of speaking to. He had a few friends who tried to reassure him otherwise, but he was always convinced that one needed power and skill to stand tall in a world like this. He willingly undertook the procedure as a way of gaining talent, in the hopes that he could stand equally with others When the project failed to provide any change in him, he fell into a deep depression; he stood no closer to being empowered than he did prior. However, his friends being the understanding friends they were, they helped Ryuto past his dejected state, and eventually Ryuto simply decided that he didn’t need power to be beloved.
At that point, the records concerning Ryuto Inui or the Entity called Tatsuya Ogami go blank. Ryuto does not dwell too much on the past, and Tatsuya doesn't speak about it.
