That and you do say you're not human in any way so I doubt this world considers you human enough to have one...hopefully not anyway. That Shadow would drive us all mad, 'cept you and Maria."

"In small corridors with my Shadow being about as knowledgeable in military tactics about me, they probably don't apply."

"Well crap. Shadow me knows our plans."

"Ok, so all I need to do is stay behind you guys."

Richard rubs his hand, holding Durandal in his other hand and looking pained.
"Not my fault I'm shit at sword fighting. I didn't grow up in medieval times like most of you."

Richard wrings his hand out, then holds Durandal in that grip and puts a single foot behind him, a single foot forward.

"I think this is how I do it?"

Anthony looks at his surroundings.

"Technically I would be stale and predictable because we know my Shadow and I are genre savvy."

Richard nodded to Maria's lecture.

"I refuse zo believe that ze Duellist of Avriogne is PREDICTABLE."

"If he has my degree of genre savvy, he'll know. And is probably setting us up right as we speak."

So we'll have to subvert it somehow, otherwise we'll fall into his trap further. But also, we'll have to deal with you lot's Shadows as well."
