Alith glared somewhat at Allie, but took his seat sullenly, sawing the antlers off the deer he'd been dragging.

"....what the hell have I been drinking?

At least that would explain why Adrian is a girl and Allie tried to eat metal."

Richard shrugs.

"Ingrained evolutional or cultural behaviours? I'm wondering that myself as a history student and enthusiast."

The deserts of the land were once barren. Once abandoned.

Until they came.

They arose from the deserts, gaining their knowledge,their skill, everything.

And they became.

They rose from the sands. Tall, green, woody humanoids, with spines growing everywhere on their bodies, flowers growing on their heads and holes from mouths and eyes.

They called themselves Arl'Ari. People of the Sands. A human would name them the Cactisapien, the Intelligent Cacti, for that was their form.

They wandered around, hunting and foraging, never knowing true rest.... until now.

Tiring of eternal journeying, the Cactisapien divided into two factions. The Do'Ari, People of the Staying, and Sa'Ari, People of the Moving. The Do'Ari settled at last on the foot of the great mountain they named Ari'Lona, Watcher of the People, and founded at last a settlement.

The Sa'Ari vanished into the sands, vowing to return with stories for their people.

They named it Sah'Arl'Ari, Home of the People of the Sands.

Richard shrugs, puts on the watch and walks back with the laptop.

I'm talking about 'being alone' in terms of friends, not family.

He probably would remember giving at least one hand-crafted gift back to his family members, and his mother and father would probably constantly remind him of so.

Wait a minute. I never said ANYTHING about being alone at six.
