As everyone wanders around and ignores the world around them, something catches their eye.

They notice two girls walking past them into the gates, chattering to each other, one shy-looking girl with black hair hanging on the arm of her companion, a confident-seeming girl with red hair. The red-headed girl seems to be leading a conversation between the two, and the black-haired one just seems to be content listening, her long hair hiding the other half of her face from view from either side. They’re in the black dress uniform of Kazuraba High, with both having a black tie with a red stripe placing them in the third year of senior high school. Apart from that, there doesn’t seem to be much else noticeable about them.

The red-headed one, however, notices you all.

She takes a moment, suddenly, to look around at the people gathered around the gate. Her gaze seems to be piercing through you as her hazel eye flits between Ruy, Giallo and Midori and the rest. A small smile crosses her face, before her black-haired companion lightly tugs on her sleeve, as if to ask what had caught her interest. The red-headed girl simply smiles knowingly in response, before resuming her conversation with her as if nothing ever happened. They walk into the main building, not noticing any sort of response or glance towards them.

The bell sounds shortly, signalling the first call for everyone to start filing into school. Perhaps you should get a move on.

1. Your sheet isn't finished. You're missing Focus, Actions and HP.
2. What IS there is utterly broken. In what world would instantly rendering someone else's character a brain-dead slave if they fail a ridiculously difficulty check be balanced? It's also broken in the other way; that is to say, it doesn't work at all by the standards of the system.

Midori pouts. "But sleeeeeep."

She notices is Kotaro's tone, even as his face remains neutral. "Calm down, I'm sure you'll make friends just fine!"

Once Midori connects, she sets about setting up her profile and avatar on the school network
"U-uh...okay..."

"Oh. Okay. Still, good to hear!"

Cecil sighs relievedly, looking around to make sure nobody got hit with something, before going over to check on Alissa quickly.

"Alissa! Are you hurt? Did they throw anything at you?"

.....Which does bring up that we don't actually have any smarts heroes as far as I know...  Yikes.
Lillian is pretty intelligent. It's a requirement to be trusted with power armor (that she herself must maintain) AND to be a sniper, of all things.

So how is he going to not get completely and utterly trounced, then?
Guns, probably. I'm looking at your sheet and she doesn't seem to have any abilities that let her survive a bullet to the head, for example. Many heroes and villains do have abilities that let them survive bullets, so my character will probably end up as E-rank at most, and I'm ok with that. I've never played a ludicrously underpowered character before and just trying to survive will probably be a fun activity on its own.
Um, how do I say this without being rude. I normally don't give out critique in a form that isn't simultaneously insulting and hilarious to the receiver.

Your character seems to be generic and unfinished.

I don't mean offense by that. However, your character, as it stands, seems very much generic and unfinished for a variety of reasons:
- Firstly, he's not exactly standing out from the already present cast of underpowered heroes (Lillian, Caroline and Kevin). He has no unique characteristics that would make him stand out; if you emphasise his status as a badass normal skilled with guns, for instance, Lillian already does that far better, with justification within her backstory. His underpoweredness is taken much further with Kevin, who does more with the idea because it's woven into his story; as he already starts out weak, he wants to train and so enters Avalon to train himself to become badass. The point being that your character is basically doing what other characters do, but worse. Either give this guy some sort of interesting gimmick that isn't being utterly generic, or if he is going to be generic, my answer to that is below...

- That brings me to the next point; backstory and personality. We know nothing about this guy. Nada. Nil. While it's perfectly acceptable for a character to simply want to attend the Academy without any events in their backstory to drive them to, it has to be made up for in his personality. To be quite frank, you did not; his personality adds up to him being quiet and cleanly, which aren't all that interesting. Moreover, his whole concept is counter to the concept of moving up in ranks, which is an inherent mechanic of the game. All of this adds up to a character who is neither interesting, nor likely to progress in the game as a whole; and if he will be neither, why would anyone be invested in him as a character aside from yourself? If you do insist on a generic gimmick, expand on his other qualities as to give everyone else a reason why they should care about this character.

- My third point is linked, albeit a point I'm not particularly invested in either; mechanics. You're missing two perks, for starters, and of the two you do have, one has no mechanical effect whatsoever. It's the opposite of some other characters; rather than being utterly broken, it does absolutely nothing. Likewise for the abilities; we don't have any idea of what those do at all. They seem more fluff-linked; in this case, most should be omitted and included in his backstory to justify his possession of those skills. Of his current skills, only one seems fit to be on the list at all; the others should be taken for granted, assuming his backstory supports it.

Overall, the character needs a lot of polish and fixing. As others have already said before, you should read the thread and look at the other sheets for pointers as to how to improve yours, as well as consider expanding what you already have or trimming the extraneous fat. However, it's not at all unsalvageable, so at least you did a better job than a certain few ^_^

The network extends just out of the gate. It's possible to connect.
"U-uh....it happens a lot....I hear..."

6893
Kotaro looks around carefully, his calm and apathetic face belying his wariness at all the people he's never met before.
"Erm....you know, just in case we get stuck on the train..."

Accel World: Rebel Impulse

Sometime in 2047,
Kazuraba Junior High School
Neo Tokyo City

The school year has just begun.

All of you are standing just outside the gates of Kazuraba High. It’s relatively old, by Tokyo standards, as a high school; it was founded sometime in the early 1900 and overhauled in the 2020s after the rotting second floor collapsed onto the first floor. Thankfully, there were no casualties, but the school had to be evacuated and eventually demolished; however, the then-incumbent and still current headmaster, a man by the name of Tohru Akiyama who had inherited a small fortune from his family’s zaibatsu, paid and fought to keep the school site away from hungry developers looking to develop more housing after the earthquakes of the early 2000s. Instead, he rebuilt the school, with more modern-looking architecture and including the then-new Neuro Linker technology as part of the site’s new designs.

Indeed, the building is a cutting sight in the ward; several steel and glass buildings, resembling more high-class apartments than a school building. This is not helped by the large green areas on campus, with trees and bushes tastefully placed for aesthetic as well as environmental reasons; after all, in a bustling metropolis like Neo Tokyo, green becomes increasingly rare. Classrooms with new touch-screen interfaces and ports to connect Neuro Linkers installed into the tables can be seen from the outside through massive panes of toughened glass, as well as a new track for athletics and running, a new gymnasium and a separate building for the cafeteria and the first years. The whole place is also walled off from the outside world, with only two ornate black gates, as well as two smaller pedestrian gates opening on either side, permitting access to Kazuraba High from the rest of Neo Tokyo.

All in all, nothing particularly special about it aside from the fact that it looks as if a part of Shibuya ward- a train ride away- got itself lost and stuck far away from home.

You are students at this school. Whether you are new to Neo Tokyo and just starting your first year at Kazuraba High, or have been here for years and finishing your last, you’re standing at the open school gates. Whether talking to your friends in reality, or browsing the Internet on the overlay that Neuro Linkers provide, you’re in a world of your own.

For now.

((RP for now, more or less.))

Sound in, if you're still in. Game will start later today.

Only just realized that Ryo was already Moon Arcana, and I'm pretty sure we can all agree that if Cthulhu wants the moon, he can damn well have it.

So I guess James Bond is now a Persona of the High Priestess Arcana. So I'm pretty sure, I'm either about to get lynched, or my character's going to somehow end up being stuck in drag for half the game.
Or Bond could be Emperor. :P
