The Fool link is with EVERYONE. Even if one person doesn't particularly like me, still counts as a rank up if my bond with everyone is strengthened.

If it was with you only, fine, I wouldn't be able to unlock the next rank without some serious logicality, let alone start a friendship with you, but yeah.

So then I hide behind a bin, he just blasts all the monsters nearby with lightning!

Just as he kills the last one, he vanishes, and everything is all normal again.

I still have a splitter of a headache, and I think it's a dream, so I stumble back to the hotel and get sleep.

It wasn't a dream.

The very next day, it happened again. I got surrounded by monsters, and Ixion shows up and blasts them.

I left Japan the next day, and I'd hoped it was all behind me.

It wasn't.

So, I strike up this friendship with a girl in my class: class president, caring, rich family, all that.

Soon as we start being friends, the same voice goes up to me;
"Thou art I, and I art thou.

I go,"What does that mean?".

At night, I went out for a coffee. Then, some assholes show up and try to mug me.

I nearly piss myself, then Pendragon shows up and beats the hell out of them.

I just spend about five minutes standing dumbfounded, then get home.

For about two years since, I went out every night fighting criminals. People in the criminal underworld told stories about the black unicorn and the white queen.

Then, one day, I get invited to lunch by some person. Apparently an important person, the invitation was sent by courier rather than put through the mailbox and it wa sealed with a signature.

I go, and I meet with some red-haired lady and a couple of guys in suits. The lady sent me the invitation.

I sit down, have lunch, then she hands me the Evoker, the thing I use to summon them.
She says she knows what I am and how it feels, and leaves before I can ask how.

Since ten, I just try to get on with my life, and I ended up here."

Richard took another breath and continued.
"So I ran out of the mall, looking for the hotel I was staying in.

No luck, everyone was coffins there as well.

So I wandered around, looking for people who weren't coffinized.

I wandered into a particularly bad part of town. Shirikawa Boulevard, the sign said. It's like Southwark in your time, Allan; filled with brothels and love hotels.

Anyway, I walk around for another minute when I see a couple of teens! And they were alive!
I went to speak with them, when I realized that they wouldn't understand me, me being English and them being Japanese and probably not English-speaking.

That, and they were carrying large weapons; one of them had a bow, another a frigging longsword!

Oh, and one guy looked like he popped straight out of anime; moving stylized pictures for you lot. Guy had BLUE HAIR for chrissakes!

Anyway, I walked off, tried to find someone else, when I get surrounded by these blob things. They had masks and HANDS. Tried to grab me.

So I picked up a nearby wooden pole and started smacking them.

I kill the last one when suddenly a voice goes on in my head:
"Thou art I, and I art thou."

I get the mother of all headaches, and then..."
