For one, Maria hard-counters Alanis. Alanis relies on projectile magic to attack.
Maria's Perfect Poise, Firenze Nullifier Device and Elegant Vantage make it difficult to hit Maria and counters any Kinetic Shell shenanigans she might pull. And once Maria reaches Tempo Maxima, Alanis is more or less stuffed once Maria gets her to low enough health (which is more than Alanis currently has) to kill her with Tiro Finale Maxima. Of course, basic Tiro Finale might do well depending on how low Alanis is at that point.
Mio also soft-counters via Heavenward Strike dealing more damage to Alanis the more Alanis' Untapped Power grows, for another thing. Of course, Mio could also go for the Piercing Strike and go through her Kinetic Shell or just go for the plain God Hand to eat her alive. And her Kinetic Shell won't survive through Full Bloom.
