How about 'so I can make sure there is no stupid shit in the damn sheets and don't have to do all the sheets individually' and 'I can do a short test combat to see how the system works and I'd rather do that before the game starts so I can tweak it'?

I could come up with an Originator who gives Brain Burst to both Ruy and Vite if that's what they both want. The reason I'm not allowing Originators for PCs is because Originators tend to be around Level 8-9, given they've been in Brain Burst literally since the game existed.

Alternatively, to do with Kazane's trauma....wanting to Accelerate and become ever faster (Accelerating allows you to increase physical speed when using the Physical Full Burst) might be something that interests her.

Ruy's obsessed with the world in books, stuff like El Cid and stuff. Maybe he got interested when a classmate of his talked him into joining a virtual world for him to play out his fantasies?

I'm just saying, if you can't think of one that does (and you probably should've to be quite honest), I can work in a few NPCs as Guardians.
