Jack goes to the front of the cave, grabs one of the bandits at the fronts weapons and hands it to the companion.
"You have three choices, you can join me and come down the cave for a fight, you can leave this place and find somewhere safe to hide and wait for me, or you can leave me and this place and find your own way. Your choice."
Jack finishes speaking and starts down the entrance toward the shots.

Jack nods at the man/woman, and heads towards the crates, hopefully finding a key to unlock those cuffs. If not, he tries sawing the cuffs off with his sword.

Jack heads down to class early, just because he already has books to read and doesn't feel like being in the library. He sits in his desk and begins reading "The Heavy Metal Book"
