Why did a goblin siege bring an ogre lye maker with it?

I used to have an old bell alarm clock when I was a kid.  Its ticking kept me up at night, so it didn't last long.

Refresh my memory.

If your outpost liaison gets killed, will you get a new one?

Well it seems like there will be mass desertion as soon as the first bomb drops.  Don't be surprised if you see hordes of loyalists surrender to CNN reporters.

Let's hope those Air Strikes 'accidentally' happen to fall on Khaddafi's bunker.

The U.S., French and English (which looks like will be doing the first run of the bombings) probably want this to end as fast as possible, given that Bahrain is a huge wild card.  They'll want full air superiority first, which shouldn't take too long at all.  After that it gets tricky.  How much fighting will you let the rebels do?  How many civilian casualties do you tolerate?  I really don't expect any boots on the ground, except for maybe a token UN peacekeeping force after Khadaffi is killed.

I'm surprised Russia did not veto.  The instability in the middle east is causing high oil prices and they must love that.
Ayup. Their cars are running on ethanol, so they don't mind.

I was referring to the fact that Russia is a huge exporter of oil.

So what does Benghazi government still hold? Is it too late for no flight zone to get them victory, or will the international intervention be on a larger scale (ie tomahawking Gadaffi's strongholds)?

Benghazi holds Benghazi and not that much else at this point.  Air strikes are expected within hours, but I don't know what will get hit first.  Probably Khadaffi's air strips, I'm guessing.

UN Security council resolution passes 10-0.

Wait? What? You saying that even Russia and China voted for it?!

Here I was waiting for the last dull red ember of hope for humanity in my soul to go out, and then all of a sudden someone comes along and puts a little wood in the pit

There were 5 abstentions.

Khadaffi is threatening Mediterranean sea and air traffic in case there is international intervention
With what? Apparently the rebels control the navy and he needs his airforce at home to fight the rebels, so he doesn't much wriggle room for this threat. I kinda hope he does try to pull off some stunt like that, it'll help get nations onboard with intervention.

Yeah I think it's a case of a madman's bluster.  But he does have some air power.

The real danger at this point are the exposed spent fuel pools.

Yes, RedKing, I've heard no stories about looting or civil disorder.

For now, anyway.  A good chunk of Japan was wiped out and rebuilding will take a lot of time and patience.  Even if you were paranoid and had plenty of emergency supplies like food and basic medical supplies and ammunition, it could've been all washed to sea or irradiated.

CNBC is reporting that the workers are almost done building a power line to the plant.  This could reactivate the cooling systems there.
