Well, he's a hostile invader so I don't think he'll do much outside of wander around waiting for something to kill/reanimate

Makes a lot more sense than wooden hands

I can imagine a drunk guy putting some poor schmoe into an armlock just to pick a droplet of beer off his sleeve then lick his own finger after doing so

instead of sending them to the hospital.

I dunno, something like this provides a steady stream of injured dwarves for your medical crew to practice their skills on.

Never Underestimate Adhesives

Clearly a reference to Fallout 4

A random selection of books sitting in my current fort's library:

Can Sundials Save The World?
Pulleys For Everyone
True Hardness
Time Spent With Breathing
Glue
Glue: Further Musings
I, for one, am very excited for the new upcoming Glue book

The idea of people absconding with your books isn't a horrible idea. Its a very real library problem. It just shouldn't happen this often.

If a visitor borrows a book from the library and fails to return it on time, they must pay the late fee or the hammerer will dispense dwarven justice!

Released for less thab a week and already the new features are being used to kill people

Of course, simply bashing people with a book is not properly dwarfy. Now, if books were discovered to be infinitely stackable, or capable of being enormously dense depending on the materials used to make then...

Hm, so there could finally be a use for those damn elves and their useless wood armor. Well, assuming you want to use your bones, shells and leather for other purposes anyways.

10
make a 3x3 room with a single chair in the middle and lock him in it (be sure to keep his armor on) with glass walls in the middle of the meeting area

then put in a dwarf and have him beat the crap out of him with their bare hands for all to see

that's how you interrogate someone

Meh, since I'm more of a Warhammer fan than a LoTR fan, I like my lady dwarves to be beardless

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / The Tale of Ospun and Batman
« on: January 04, 2014, 09:53:55 pm »
I was in fortress mode making an adventure fort for adventure mode, and I had forgotten to take an anvil with me on embark. I started noticing that several cave people started bursting into flames, but I ignored it thinking it was some cave people fighting fire crabs or something that escaped the magma. So, while waiting for the trade caravan, a forgotten beast appeared! Gasp!

A fire breathing llama covered in scales by the name of Ospun! I was unconcerned, however, because my fortress was entirely enclosed as there was no entrance to my fortress from the caves, since I walled it all in. So, I watched the forgotten beast roam through the caves until he encountered batman, who had splintered into multiple copies of himself!

I thought to myself, "Ha! Those batmans are going to get destroyed by that forgotten beast! He breathes fire!". Well, at least I got the fire part right. Ospun breathed his deadly fire and set several of the batmans on fire, but that did not stop them from charging into the llama with their little spears and blowguns. They fought for about a month without stopping.

This was when I thought, "How come those bats aren't dead yet? It's a giant llama breathing fire!" That's when I looked at Ospun's description and got flooded by a giant screen of red. Fractures, bruises, cuts. However, on his wounds page, everything was only yellow, so that meant he was not very badly wounded. Except for the fact that his blood was EVERYWHERE. At the end, the batmans stabbed and shot (closer to poked and tickled) Ospun so much with their wooden spears and blowguns that he died of cumulative damage, the only casualties the tribe of batman receiving being 2 dead and a broken ankle. Also, through the entire battle, there was one batman who just sat there in the corner eating cave fish.

he's the giant L

TL;DR: A giant fire breathing llama attacked my fortress and was killed by batman armed with a spear and blowgun
