"'Bout time you guys showed up!" The God-King exclaims as he abruptly steps out from the surrounding wilderness to join his friends on the path, carrying several shopping bags of sundry knickknacks and wearing a novelty 'What happens in Wonderland stays in Wonderland' T-shirt. "You are not going to believe some the awesome things they have in the gift shops here!"

"Did you see her? Or a Vorpal Blade?"

"Who? The bartender? No, thankfully. Just thinking about the bitch puts a damper on my good mood...oh! One of the shops I visited had a whole aisle dedicated to Vorpal tools and the like, though! I actually ended up buying an absolutely beautiful set of Vorpal cutlery that was on sale. Which reminds me; you guys wouldn't happen to know of any good restaurants around these parts, would you? I really wanna see what kind of food this place has."

Note to self:

In Slaves to DZA: Chapter II, remember to start all participants off with jetpacks.

All right, some other faces in the game!

Zan and Kestrel hadn't posted any actions, so I just decided to skip ahead to the people whose actions were the closest to completion.

(How far have I traveled anyway?)

I think Jorn's been walking for around 20 minutes now. So, with my rule of thumb being that people generally walk at a speed of 4-5 MPH, I'd say about a mile or two.  The distance between Gadsden and Hopkins is roughly 8 miles, in case you were wondering.

Taom

Although failing to come across any shady loan sharks on his walk through the settlement, Taom is successful in obtaining a 54£ 'loan' from a gullible young man he ran into near one of the local pubs (who seemed to be just little more than tipsy at the time), after making a convincing yet empty promise to repay him with three times the given amount sometime tomorrow. Not quite the amount nor the type of currency he was hoping for, but it's nevertheless a step up from being dirt poor.

Sir Havel the Unyielding

Once a safe distance distance away from the ill-fated shrine, the knight of stone spends several minutes in deep prayer, calling upon the Moon goddess to aid him in fulfilling the shrinekeeper's final wish.
The jungle floor begins to softly tremble, before erupting into a violent quake. Soon, the earth beneath the shrine crumbles and gives way, and within seconds, a great sinkhole swallows the ancient structure in its entirety.

Though the jungle canopy provides ample shade, the Sun still shines brightly in the sky, restricting Lunus' ability to transport Sir Havel back to the archival shrine (blasted timezones!).

Hisir Namedene

In their mission to find a new place to lie low for a while, Hisir & associates luck out when they happen upon a small forested area right on the town's outskirts! If only locating such a haven was this easy the first time around...

In as inconspicuous a manner as one can possibly manage while clad in prison garb or suit of plate armor, the group quickly slips into the cover of the lush trees and foliage.

"Much better."

Estimated time passed: 10 minutes.

15:25 remain.

And it can take weeks for just 5 minutes of in-game time to pass.

I know it isn't something to be proud of, but I feel like there should be some kind of award for keeping a game active this long while it progresses at such a slothful pace.

The first celebrity that comes to my mind when viewing Guardian's picture is Rick Astley, to be totally honest. Though I can't quite pinpoint why...

Life Advice / Re: Psychology, thought, and the nature of emotion
« on: March 20, 2013, 01:17:28 am »
Well fuck, now I'm a tad worried. For me, strong emotions can arise and shift seemingly at a whim, and actually tend to have such great impact on the way I think and behave that it is almost as if I have several different personalities. Something to look further into, perhaps...

It's not too bad once you begin to go through life with the expectation that everyone you meet will be a deceptive asshole in one way or another. In fact, it makes it all that more special when you meet an individual of exceptional honesty.

It's also a good way to make yourself completely neurotic.  When you start reading passive-aggressive jabs into idle conversations with relatives you meet once a year, you might just be paranoid.

But remember: Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you're wrong.

There's no need to be paranoid at all. Such a mindset actually allows me to be much more understanding and patient with those around me. After all, why get angry and judgmental at someone for being an asshole, when you already know that everyone is going to be an asshole? Nobody's perfect, and it's practically the nature of life itself, it so why let it bother you?

Seriously. I took that "assume everyone is a shithead until proven otherwise" approach for a few years. It was fucking awful. Terrible advice, never take it.

But it usually does.

But, MSH, everyone is a shithead (or whatever other general derogatory word one prefers to use). They can't help it. I doubt there has ever been a single being on this planet that did not, at some point in it's existence, act like a shithead. There are merely intervals where entities choose to be less of a shithead to certain other entities. The key is to recognize, appreciate and encourage the behavior displayed within such intervals, and to simply not give a fuck when people resort back to their shitheaded ways.

After setting fire to the bar, only to realize that most everyone had already left without him, D.Z.A. begrudgingly teleported to Wonderland in order to meet up with his fellow adventurers; intending to spend the majority of his time souvenir shopping whilst they ran around trying to rescue disrespectful bartender.

Killing yourself to assume your own identity...that's some crazy murder mystery shit right there. But how do you plan to handle the problem of other-you's death resulting in original-you no longer existing, due to other-you being you from the past?

The Moderator opens the door, takes a careful look around the hangar, and, much to his surprise, is unable to spot any form of opposition stationed in the vicinity. Or anyone at all, for that matter.
The aircraft inside the hangar appear to have been left completely undefended, which should make it pretty easy to go about stealing one. Suspiciously easy...

"I'm not sure I want to hear anything more of that particular story..."

Not any actual grand plot that I'm aware of. Rather, a hypothetical grand plot that one may assume The Moderators had somehow plotted beforehand in order to coordinate their escape.

270
Mayhap. Taking recent events into account, I guess it wouldn't be that hard to believe that Black Maple's supervisors would want to start collecting items and info from The Moderator's base ASAP to prevent any more of their plans from going astray. But then again, I'd imagine they'd also now be even more reluctant to trust anything either Moderator says. For all they know, this "phasing" could just be another part of The Moderators' grand plot to escape.
