"That is fair." After another moment, the Lord-Captain relays all info to the Governor. They might as well raise the chances of success.

Contact the Governor, see if they can suggest any skilled leatherworker, scrimshawer or other similar crafting professions that might help here. Otherwise it's time to do the legwork ourselves. Maybe the dino-wranglers our resident weirdos visited may be helpful?

"This is certainly a problem. Any suggestions of weathering, at least something that's superficial enough to avoid initial suspicion?" They could just hope the Rogue Traders wouldn't notice anything amiss, but it's far better to try and lower any risks of the negotiation going completely awry.

++There is, however, bad news along with the good, which means the meeting cannot be held as soon as possible. The corpse looks uncannily 'new', therefore there may be some sort of fixing involved to diminish the disparity.++ he informs the Governor just in case. They just can't have the meeting before that problem is corrected.

"Genetor Hogbin, while this is fine work I fear it looks unnaturally untouched. Not the lack of wounds, I planned on fixing that ourselves; it has to do with the lack of weathering on the parts you'd expect such as teeth, skin and teeth. Is there a way to artificially age its hide and maybe teeth?"

He does remember a smartass pupil at the Schola attempting to make new parchment look aged in order to replace one they'd destroyed. "Would carefully alternating between heat-treating and moisturizing help age the hide without making it brittle? And perhaps repetitive mechanical action to cause at least give some superficial appearance of usage to the teeth?"

Suggest fixes. Pray to the Emperor this is fixed.

Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

"Let us hope this brings us good things."

Go check on the corpse and contact the Governor with the good news so we can split the trophies.

Is it possible to check on the clone-corpse now or do I have to wait until the raptor thing is done?

"Your corpse is prepared. Have you obtained a sample for me?"

++As of now he seems adamant about not having meetings while fighting, therefore I planned on using the lull in the combat that'll come with the meeting to announce the trophy matter has been settled to obtain a sample.++

"I am not sure if the Honored Guest has told you already, but we are on a mission that is of importance both of your kind and also for us due to an order from the Lord-commander of the Imperium itself." the captain replies, performing the Aquila as soon as he evokes Roboute's title. "The terms during this venture are that you will receive treatment equivalent to my high-ranking officers, plus any adaptations necessary due to your species provided they aren't hard to accomplish or obtain."

Marco also frowns powerfully at the alien's second to last comment. "Your kind has the reputation of being duplicitous among humankind, but that is irrelevant in face of an assignment from a Son of the Emperor. Save your words for pirates and ne'er-do-wells." he dismisses.

"And it is human etiquette to take your helmet off in front of allies and authority when there is no danger afoot."

Just waiting for the tech-priestess to get things done and for Karsus to post.

Remembered to edit one of my posts to give the cryptic question a reply. I also forget the lore for sure but I'm fairly sure we aren't able to pinpoint location through Astropathic messages, though at least knowing whether it comes from the Expanse or through the Maw would be helpful.

And hey, maybe flack is their local version of flak, just spoken (and written with) an accent.

"I don't wish anyone killed. At least not at the moment. And there is much I need to know related to the Traders in this world, as well as the situation of the Expanse at large."

After taking another think, Marco adds "Tallion, would you happen to be looking for a crew? I did comment on needing more experienced voidfarers and specialists, and I assume the Honored Guest might have acted on it."

While there's anticipation when the jester announces he's taken care of three, then at least two of his requests, the Lord-Captain is fairly sure he isn't expected to break this alien's back either figuratively or literally, or the other eldar wouldn't have presented them this way. Perhaps luckily, Marco is also ever so slightly aloof and not particularly perceptive, so there's no chance of him catching the whispering or even the associated motion.

"Greetings. I am Lord-Captain Marco Cordello, Rogue Trader of the Guerra Dynasty. I assume you have information to give us then, based off what our honored guest has said?"

He does notice the fact Tallion's gear looks like it's gone through a lot but makes no mention of it since making fun of the wear and tear on a warrior's equipment would be ridiculous. Like making a joke at the expense of notches on armor or the prominent scar on his own face.

Is there a way to figure out the general direction the reply came from? Also send a reply.

While it's an odd question and he can't tell whether it was traitors or Imperials trying to probe his intentions, the captain sends a proper reply anyway: ++Of course I love the God-Emperor. May He on Terra help us prevail through these dark times.++

There's been an update two days ago and I was the only one to post by the way.

And Karsus, you could maybe be an acquaintance of our weird eldar navigator and maybe part of the corsair group who are supporting us and whose base we've recently left. Kedia has done work for corsairs for some centuries I believe.

Your sheet kept the same starting item as my character and I'm not sure if that's intentional.
