I am recently at my ... 5,6 or seventh embark on the same site !Reclaiming! the old fortress. Its great! I just embark with booze, dog meat and a whole lot of granite. I'm currently working on the entrance of my fort: a splendid citadel with towers that will connect my fortress atop a small mountain with 2 bridge. When stones run out we leave everything left to the lions waiting  for us.

Anyone knows if goblin can show up during year 1 after multiple reclaims?

I have snow in the center of my volcano, on the diorite block floor that serve as animal sacrifice magma plongeon to armok (praise the lord of all ascii mayhem, a new puppy as been sacrificed to you today as it befits your great splendor and wrath)... WHAT THE HELL IS SNOW DOING THERE! Isn't it supposed to be hot in the mouth of pure joy and evil? I guess the mountain at the top generated that snow....

Most death, namely Urist McDruid who was so psyched about war he took his entire life crafting bone and leather armor from awesome beast only to die at the end of the first band of goblins that comes by, the thing is that he had no weapon..... still was a hell of a biter

no... my manager overburdened me thus pushing me into continuous bad thoughts, the first moment I had a break I decided to celebrate my birthday! which I was denied earlier because of burning industrial dishwasher(thinking about destroying dishwasher now) who needed unnessasary work which is anyway wasteful and pollute the aquifer...then my fellow roommate unlock door at party in house... then roughedge start drinking beer, wine, consuming rat weed and goblin cap to get through the week... I think that's where I tantrumed but happily the blood was from work cutting knive open wound

I frequently abuse alcohol, make my own alcohol and always drink it even if it stinks just to get drunk. My friend has a stockpile of wine in his room, I repeatedly throwed some minor drunk tantrum trying to breach this door and get the said booze. No matter what, he is still my friend... my fortress is the best.

Organise rooms where you will put dwarves with apparent luxury. Then put various weapon traps in the room activated by passerby stepping on pressure plates. Be sure to have some windows next to the pressure plates, then make a small meeting zone on each plate. I wonder if that will work?

I always somehow get trapped into somekind of plan that will doom one of my dwarf into an infinite downward 1x1 digging madness where he will eventually fall to his death or magnificient glory as the first cave explorator. On the surface, the other dwarves go feral, gathering plant and making sharp wood spears then go hunting the biggest thing on the surface with of course some implied casualty. Most of time it goes well, since hunting provide food from meat, leather for armor and some FUN, also the surface plants can make good alcohol. Things get more seriuous with new migrants who establish houses.... or get slaughtered by tantruming feral dwarves covered in blood and mud.
