Change the setting in the init files? If your talking about advanced world generation idk. Otherwise maybe just embark on mountain sides next to the desired biome.

My entire military, 30 dwarves with iron axe and bronze armor were transformed into ''evil ash zombies'' by the evil mountains toxic gases. The fortress has been locked downed since. There are also zombies in the sewer system trying to grab you if you activate the pump. Some humain traders were also transformed, and a few ghost are hanging out near the main tunnel entrance. So I got 3 squads of super zombies roaming the lands killing elves and others dirty surface folks. Fortunately the infection has not spread in the fortress. An isolationist mouvance is taking place. Beer Production is up so all is good. I hope zombie in water dont spread infection ? Its the same water my wounded dwarves drink.

The junglers have killed wolves and dingos, they have converted them into pretty badass bone helms and leather robes that they have adorned before the first wave of migrants. Although as they arrived they witnessed the first fortess murder.  Anybody ever succeeded at nude fortress?

First Zombie Wars officially started at Hammerbulb (vanilla)

1st zombie wave: 150+ zombies
Defenders:  3 veteran steel knights(full steel), 5 conscript(wood shield, steel sword), and 10 unskilled ranger in a tower at the gates.

2 veterans dead, 3 conscripts dead

The last defender at the gate (an unbearded dwarf!!!) killed 40+ zombies himself while his superior lord fell to the pitiful blows of some elven zombies... The conscript which were assigned their first training session outside had barely learned to use their sword, but two heros remain Ushrir and Cerol respectively 14 and 13 years old. They held the first attackers at bay while the command squad was at the inn getting fat.

Some undeads tried to enter the fortress, but the magnificient spiked silver balls denied that our guard dogs get defiled.

I regularly kill dwarves many ways in a dungeon deep down in the earths crust. My favorite is a massive solid gold spiked crusher adorned with jewels.

Recently I put 200 dwarves in a 3x3 room with a steel spike put on repeat but no roof (the dungeon is many z level high). After half were dead I decided to clean the mess it made, the body parts were flying around and the floor is full of hands, arms, feets and such. The dwarves surprisingly took it well, not much berserking dwarves that needed to be hacked. The military was watching the whole time of course. I hope the vampire is dead, i have 50/50 chances. Also gave back 20-30 FPS. All the corpses were crushed in the communal dump.

A large 30 x 30 walled court on the surface is occupied by the military. The entrance is 5 wide 10 long and is filled with a barricade of fortifications and wooden spikes, it is also elbow shaped toward south for 5. No cage traps! Also the court is a kennel so there is a lot of military there. Three squad of iron garbed professional military train on surface constantly(hammer, spear, axe). I am thinking about implementing shooting towers at the four corners. The elbowed corridor is not viewable by the military because of a wall in front of it inside the court but with a 1 space to allow entrance of the baddies so when the horde of dwarf see the first enemy the battle usually take place in the corridor. Idk if its impenetrable but a militarised well equipped fort is the most powerful thing I have seen so far.

7 miners/herbalist. They breach the cavern early and dig a large soil room for fungus to grow, so they can get cavern plants.

The merchants yak bull, after being trapped for years inside the small trade room, went berserk and a vicious fight followed involving one of the merchant biting the yak in the lower body. The feral instinct of the dwarves are something to be recognized here. I still think they kept calm a long time! We won't open the gate soon and since we are the few families left from our glorious nation, our main concern is avoiding consanguinity, although it didnt seem to affect our cats, dogs, and various birds which are thriving in our many cages. We are few but we are rich, and after a few century, our sons will tell this story from the various debilitating engravings we made on the floor of the brewery, inspired by the holy spirit of the caves. Yet another girl was born! Praise Armok, our maidens blood is our offering!

Dear Urist McGenius

I understand that marine life fascinates you and you really need shells to forge that mighty artifacts uve been dreaming through your booze filled dreams, but we live in a DESERT, try some camel leather instead. Also can you please contact the fisherman guild who sent you here and tell them to stop sending in all your useless friends.

Sincerely yours, your Pharaoh Urist McGilla

I just downloaded the new masterwork and it look great. Although there is somewhat of a problem is that I can't seem to get my farms to produce anything at all. Is that normal? I used to have no problems of such in previous versions. Maybe they take more time as I've read in the forum but whats the point my fort is just starving no

crops too long = starving at embark WTF
