Partly. There are single missions and campaigns. If your leveled up guys die in one of the campaigns, they stay dead for the rest of the campaign and will be replaced with fresh recruits after you've finished the campaign. Right now, I don't know if this only applies in Iron mode, but I think rather not.

Yeah I played Broforce local co-op with a friend ~1 year ago and it was amazing! 
Bastion is great, too.
Hmm... looks like I'm going for KSP (still unsure, see below) and a donation to URW (wanted to do this ever since I discovered URW). That'd be enough money spent on games for the upcoming month. Okay, I'll probably get Broforce + a copy for a friend (so we can play something else than just Dota) also.
These ain't the ones I initially wanted to get (at least not in November), but hey I think they have most replay value and are among the most playable ones I listed. Afterall, the other games won't vanish from earth.

By the way, anyone remembers those awesome CDs with dozens of demos on it you got with PC magazines? Why are there so few demos nowadays? I think demos are great.
Edit: I've already seen KSP on a few sales on Steam and even the Humble Store. I think I'm just going to wait for a sale there. So... definitely going for Broforce and donation URW. Everything else will be decided spontaneously or next month because I remembered that I'll get a game pad gifted soon that makes a lot of games I already own finally playable.

I don't know if there is such a thread already but I couldn't find anything, so... I really can't decide. Here's my list, in no particular order:

The trailer is reflecting only the half of the game, imo... it doesn't show nor mention that you can pause the game whenever you want and give your orders when paused. I own it and really like the game. It's challenging and fun.

If you consider getting the new DLC, check your profile ("Balance") first... especially if you donated in the past and/or bought it on steam and linked your accounts, because you might be able to get the DLC for free if you have enough coins.

I do have 2 ships already. A well-rounded destroyer and a regular frigate. I think I'm just going to invest in skills and technologies (if there is any) that makes my ships faster. The other issue is to find pirates that are weaker that my ships... there are either huge fleets or no pirates at all. So I don't really know what to do (same problem for me in every other sandbox too at the beginning )

Just bought the game 2 hours ago and played a bit as bounty hunter. I googled a bit and searched on the forum, but I couldn't seem to find a comprehensive beginner's guide. Anyone knows a link?
Anyways, I felt a bit lost. I was running low on supplies almost the whole time because I was chasing tiny pirate fleets and becaue of waiting long time for those to appear.

I dislike their pricing method aswell. It's just weird and fits more to the usual P2W MMOs, imo. Anyhow, a friend let me play the game and it got boring real fast.
