Maybe, its related to just what isnt exactly said, in the quoted flavor text of each new visitor. Rumors(intrigue), npc vs npc intetactions, exiters talking to newcomers. A multiplier vs "happy and satisfied" exiters. Dunno, I quit a fotress for lack of visitors, but it did have a number of tantrums and rotting corpses.

tree planter, a new trade, no seed required
good trees could require potash
also has the bonus feature of removing floating branches, in the performance of his duties
restrict the tree planters creation by embark biome type, maybe +1 -1/month

As soon as I opened up a topside openair Temple to a god of night,sky, I began getting visitors after a dry spell.

Also check your tavern guest setting.. Welcome All.

But with that being said, do not relabel activity zones, meeting areas, for example, repurpose old obsolete temples into guildhalls as the game has issues with that in this version.

@PL, Thank you. I had always thought volcanism, played a factor in magma. Now I see, DF things in a new light.

@vjek, that thin worldgen. Did you ever reroll it, with rejects, for the lowest possible subregion count? I see its set 5000, the upper limit. Less subregions, maybe increases thin-ness of overall embarks, in the event that you or another player decided to try another alternative biome to embark upon.

I know of no way, besides dfHack.

/stripcaged weapon or long slow vanilla way, with dumpall, undump cage.

Release caged monster slayer with lever, and hope they grab a better equipment. never tried that. Have you? 

I noticed tavern patrons getting tossed in cages, if you give cages to a tavern. In that, there mght be a way besides Justice, to cage one.

And the magma sea, need not be in the cellar. If magma was not forced onto the bottom z-levels, in worldgen, and volcanism set to extremes, the ramps up/down, within candy spires would be stretched/condensed, considerably more, providing for far thinner puncture points, or far greater, but those thick puncture points can be discarded. For breaching, thin is desired, near surface candy is desired, the more surface candy near the surface, the greater chance of a breach event as history unravels.

@vjek, have ya tried a long history with an extreme volcanism setting, to tilt worlgen towards generating that breach, as circus is reached via magma and its candy tubes, usually? Volcanism frequency may play a very crucial factor. Something along the lines of all volcanism and none. [VOLCANISM_FREQUENCY:1:5000:0:0:0:5000]

I thought dfHack did that. Took an existing entity and changed it into another. Human to Dwarf. Never did it, but I thought I saw its command, in ls -a somewhere.

The embark maybe fits Humans, moreso. Like is it close to water/river? Dwarf entities prefer to be close to mtns. Not sure how to change that, without effecting the relationship with the wider world. How many civs did you start with? Just a 1, in worldgen?

Interogated a turkey gobbler. He was cagey... LOL. no. He did talk, tho. Tried a named cat, same. They answer just like dorfs. Have any of you ever had a pet working for a crimelord?

Thank you. dfHack makes long games possible and enjoyable. I do do dumping, however, some were wooden cages, and I didnt want escapees, so 'Autodump destroy' came in handy.

Going with a new guest policy. To buy time, and keep dorf pop high. Interviewing every guest, Cagey responses the Noble squad will attack. Keep in mind, this is a no stress Joyous embark, in a PerfectWorld.

The guests that join to perform a function, dance, sing, scholar, or soldier, accept. Those monster slayers, have been doing nice cellar cleanup. I've updated their gear. Bluejay Man Axe, has been stacking up kills with his new small bluejay man steel gear.

Cavern 2 is closed. Cavern 3 I farm with my squads. Cavern 1 is being managed by the 4-5 Monsterslayers. One now is standing, ha camping, at C1 map edge break, waiting for a spawn.

Ive no enemies on civ map, but I did find an aeful bug there. The donut that surrounds a civ loc, HIDES points of interests. Ive monastary in an adjacent tile to POI, completely hidden from colored donut, telling me its peaceful.

Has a bunch of books, too.

Love that last name. It was generated.

He's got pants, and a loincloth. He's also got 5 things on his head. A cap, a hood, and 3 crowns. He holds no noble office, and is one of my crafting trade type dorfs. He is also, a performer in nonGod temple. Therapist shows completely different gear for him, than DF inventory.

Stumped. How to go about fixing this, make a no uni squad, stick him in it?

Manually setting traps, gets tiresome and frustrating, as a result of the Pause and LOS change. That LOS change, for one hampster stuck in a trap, is very bad game design. Losing meat, fish, large Gem, seems costly. I skip that.
