The King's Armory corporation, and the Combat Crown.

The King's Armory corporation specializes in cheap (it's still power armor though, which is expensive), tough, and reliable power armor, as most customers are Speartails, which cannot use normal augmentations.
They decided on their name because of their first product, the Combat Crown. There are 3 CEOs, Sivvi Grandeur (Dragon F), Lord Shiv Urist Armoredangels (Speartail F), and Lord Nippa Stabsalot Thorson (Speartail F).
Sivvi is in charge of production, she wanted to join the Sons of Ivaldi, but never got good enough, she also deals with research, along with Lord Nippa.
Lord Shiv is in charge of advertising and selling. While Lord Nippa, who owns part of Mantis Fortress, manages military contracts and research with Sivvi.

It started with Sivvi Grandeur and a handful of other Dragons, who wanted to make some money, they made the Combat Crown, along with some other products (including the Power Gauntlets).
Sivvi is a Lovemark Dragon, and as such, she often got abused by others, so to protect herself, she specialized in Power Armor, it failed at places, but it held up enough.
She later got in touch with some other Dragons, and the most impressive part of her armor, was her crown, which they then started producing more of, and sold it under the name Combat Crown.
3 more products later, with great success, and Sivvi got the attention of Shiv, who was much better at selling their products. Demand did increase a lot, so they hired some more workers.
Then Lord Nippa got interested as well, and could set them up with military contracts and could offer great help with research, thanks to the Mantis Fortress' research facilities.

And so the 3 of them decided to make their own corporation, the King's Armory, and each of them became CEOs.
Originally Shiv and Lord Nippa didn't intend to give Sivvi a spot as a CEO, as she was a Lovemark, she held a lot of influence among the workers, so she could bring the corporation to it's knees.
After a while, Shiv became famous enough to become a Lord. Sivvi didn't, as no Lovemark will ever become a Lord.

Anyway, the first product, the Combat Crown, was different in that it wasn't a helmet, and had strong straps that were fitted properly.
Most head protection was in the form of helmets, which were held there with a flimsy chin strap, and some of the more protective ones limited the view.
The Combat Crown consisted of a metal circlet, 2 metal bars going down at the sides (but in front of the ears), and then there's the chin strap.
This may not seem as much, but it was basically limited protection with no side effects, sword swings would only bruise through the metal, although stabs would likely hit unprotected flesh.
Also, it could easily be upgraded in various ways, so while it wasn't very good on it's own, it had unlimited potential.

Helmet upgrades were made for the Combat Crown, which were rather easy to fit, due to it's standardized construction.
Most helmet manufacturers didn't have as much of an idea how to make very good ways of fitting the helm on your head, so while the helm lasted a battle, it could be easily torn off.
The Combat Crown also had the strap placed so pulling it wouldn't end up choking you, and it was made with tough materials, so it would never break from pulling alone.
So for every helmet sold, of almost any kind, a Combat Crown had been sold for it to be fitted to.
Though eventually, they started making their own upgrades for it.

First upgrade was a specifically crafted Armor module, which came in the form of head covering plating, basically a sallet, which could also be upgraded.
The Armor module also included venting channels, which work with ventilation systems to let the wearer keep their head cool, even in the Grand Savanna.
The Visor can be easily attached to the Armor module, and gives a clear (one way) and reinforced faceplate which lets people keep their eyes and nose safe, not the mouth though.
Then there's the Mask upgrade, which is armored to work as a mouthguard, has 3 settings, breathe, filter, and gas, which are self explanatory.
There's the more recent Space upgrade, which makes a lot of modifications, so it can be used in, you guessed it, space.

There's also the HUD upgrade, which along with putting some cameras on some more hidden places, projects a HUD on the inside of the Visor, it also can show infra red and zoom (due to the cameras).
There are many other upgrades to chose from, some better, some worse, but they often come without as good of a guarantee like the King's Armory stuff does.

Dragon families, Sorveg, Iceport, Lord Katz "Genelord" Lazarus Speer, and Privke
The first one doesn't really fit in all that well.

Dragons are more likely to adopt than any other mutants, be it sons, daughters, brothers, or sisters, as long as they're younger and vulnerable they're likely to adopt them.
Dragon families rely heavily on trust, even when dealing with other Dragon families, they trade favors not gold.
For a Dragon to raise a good family shows how good parents they are, so the ultimate goal of making a Dragon family is to get a mate for themselves.
That's not to say they don't care for their family, they're often more caring than the biological parents of those they adopt.
A Dragon family also serves as good protection, as their family is likely to return the favor and protect them (also, Dragons are quite tough).

Sorveg is the southern part of the Arctic North, it's where Iceport is located, where all naval trade vessels dock and unload their wares. There are other coastal cities, but none deal with trade.
It's called Sorveg as it serves as the Werecats' gateway to the south (Sorveg=Southway/road), where their food comes from, and most of their wares go.
Iceport is fully dedicated to ship manufacture and goods transport. If Iceport were to fall, the Werecats would suffer.
The primary source of exports are gold and GenTech wares, while the imports of food are handled by Genelord Katz herself.

Lord Katz "Genelord" Lazarus Speer is the boss of the GenTech corporation, she's been driving a hard bargain with the other Lords to ensure lower food prices.
Genelord Katz is the only Werecat Lord, so she has to do all the negotiation herself, she's also the founder of the GenTech corporation, and sometimes work personally on the research.
She's over 300 years old, with all of her body replaced by cloned or mechanical parts, she also indulges in self experimentation from time to time, due to being effectively immortal.

Privke is the capital of Sorveg, and it's where GenTech HQ is located, most inhabitants of Privke are Relentless Werecats, who are sometimes called to other places for manual labor.
This abundance of Relentless Werecats make Privke a silent town, and provides an unsettling feeling in most outsiders, as Werecats walk around, never talking, never smiling.
It's also made to be defensible, Privke is a city sized fortress, maintained and manned by the Relentless Werecat militia.

Pest Spiders and Acid Spiders

Some mad scientist decided to try and take over the world with a legion of spiders, the higher oxygen levels supported larger insect life than Earth, so they used this to make the Pest Spiders.
The Pest Spiders are 2 meter tall acid spewing spiders, but unfortunately, the corrosive atmosphere is almost as corrosive as their acid, making it completely useless.
Whenever these pop up, they're easily killed, as acid resistant suits are common.

The Acid Spiders is the result of making the spiders useful, making them produce LSD (also called acid) instead of the OMG-I'M-MELTING kind of acid.
These spiders are also bigger than the Pest Spiders, to make them produce more LSD, they're 6 meters tall.
A direct bite from an Acid Spider will kill you (after the biggest trip of your life).

The Hat

The Hat is an advanced piece of technology, it looks like a normal fedora, but inside is a supersonic reactionary kinetic field generator (a bulletproof shield, but it can stop lasers and explosions as well).
By following the neural pathways from brain to body, it creates the field around the entire person, it stops supersonic projectiles immediately, smashing them, and suspends them in the air for 0,5 seconds.
It's powered by an array of super capacitors, making it incredibly expensive, it's unknown who makes them, but it's often used by very powerful and influential criminals.
Due to it's existence, people use fedoras a lot more now, as there's always the chance of this one being... The Hat.
It doesn't stop subsonic weaponry though, so you can just shoot them with an arrow or throw knives at them, but they often wear a bulletproof vest or better in addition to The Hat.

The Lesser Fernswamp earthquakes and reports of Blood Talon activity

17 years ago, a series of earthquakes were felt in the Western Lesser Fernswamp, the earthquakes continued, and people started leaving, saying they heard ghostly whispers.
15 years ago, Space Zombies were spotted at various locations, and eliminated, more earthquakes shook the land.
11 years ago, a great earthquake shook the land, but then all reports stopped, this was also when Blood Talon started his killing spree.
10 years ago, a great ash cloud began obscuring the Western Lesser Fernswamp from space observation.
8 years ago, an expedition was sent to investigate, none returned.

7 years ago, a forest fire started spreading from the Western Lesser Fernswamp to the rest of the Lesser Fernswamp, it was stopped.
6 years ago, life was no longer detected in the Lesser Fernswamp, yet the earthquakes continued.
5 years ago, a last great earthquake was felt, and no more was heard, the earthquakes had stopped.
3 years ago, the Western Lesser Fernswamp is explored, great holes are where the cities used to be, and all the land had been scorched.
2 years ago, the ash cloud clears, revealing the entire Western Fernswamp has been devastated.

4 years ago, reports of Blood Talon starts coming in, but this time, from outside Bob, in a linear pattern across the Charta system.
3 years ago, a plasma trail from the Western Lesser Fernwamp is found, one belonging to Blood Talon, and one belonging to something much, much bigger.
2 years ago, derelicts are found, they've been damaged by Blood Talon, all equipment and components are completely destroyed.
1 year ago, all reports of Blood Talon stopped, and the plasma trail stops, for both Blood Talon, and the very large entity.
5 months ago, research results seem to indicate that a strong energy discharge had been initiated at the plasma trail's end.

Vax and the hunt for Jack the Ripper

Kaz "Steeljaw" Blackthorn had found the whereabouts of Jack the Ripper, she was allowed to take with her a squad of Steel Dragon soldiers, and her family, to get revenge on Jack.
Kaz and Zazz "Specter" Johnson took Vax with them, so she could act as bait, Vax had volunteered for this.
Zazz Johnson: "You, sure about this? You're not, one, of us."
Vax Murdock: "Oh come on, worst that could happen is if I am the one who kills her. At least it'd be a friend."
Kaz Blackthorn: "I'll make sure we get to kill her, now put on this frilly dress and act creepy, Jack targets them first. Also, here's a rifle." Kaz handed Vax a dress and a sniper rifle.

Vax Murdock: "Eh, how do you know that?"
Kaz Blackthorn: "Tak Jenna, Speartail, first to be killed. She was a good sniper. She tried socializing by talking about her rifle, creepy as hell, but nothing harmful."
Vax Murdock: "Sorry for asking, I'll get right to it." Vax stripped in front of them, and put on the frilly dress, it was hand crafted, made with care, though a bit dusty.
Vax walked into the streets, this was part of the Ghost Sector, but very populated now, though the chalk outline on the ground from years back was a bit creepy.
There were some kids here, 5-7 years old, Speartails, acting tough, they were playing with their knives, probably boys, 9-11 of them.

Vax Murdock: "Hey boys, want to see my rifle?" Vax made the creepiest grin she could.
Speartails: "Uhm... sure." Vax showed them the rifle, making sure to point out every feature, giggling constantly.
Stranger: "Oh, hi there Tak, been a while." Vax turned around, still keeping her creepy act going, the Speartail boys started inching away. "Reincarnation's a bitch aint it."
Vax Murdock: "Uh... Jack? Are you... Jack?" Standing up to a slightly hunched standing pose. The one in front of her didn't have any mutant features, looking like a Human.
Jack?: "Another reincarnate eh, kindred spirits we are, sorry about the knife in your gut, it's my way of saying hi." She stretched out her hand, for a hand greeting.

Vax shook hands with Jack, once, before she was pulled towards Jack, then felt herself stabbed in the gut, and then the knife was twisted.
Vax Murdock: "Jack!" Vax wrapped her Combat Fluff hair around Jack's head and tightened, to crush her head, but then a shot was heard.
A sniper shot hit Vax's fluff hair, but shattered and cut off part of her hair, rather than kill Jack.
Jack: "Oh my, learned a new trick eh, Tak?" Jack withdrew her knife and started shanking Vax repeatedly. "Time to kill ya again, you creepy bi-" A shotgun muzzle filled Jack's mouth.
Jack looked, and saw Zazz Johnson, having shoved his shotgun into her mouth, and stayed there for a while, while Jack saw all the other troops there.

Vax Murdock: "You have... no... idea how many d*** jokes I'm thinking of... right no-" *BLAM* Jack's head was blown off. "...w."
Vax, no longer held by Jack, fell, but Zazz caught her, and carried her to a medic. They had anticipated her getting wounded. Kaz was there with them.
Kaz Blackthorn: "Well she's dead now, I'd expected some send off one liner, but she's dead. Actually, excuse me, I gotta go piss on her corpse."
Kaz left, Zazz followed, then they returned, bladders empty.
Vax Murdock: "So, while we're here, mind telling me about your lost brother and sisters?" Kaz nad Zazz accepted, and they spent the rest of the time telling Vax about their old adventures.
