DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Goblin Siege not attacking?
« on: April 01, 2012, 02:41:04 am »
I was a very lucky n00b at the time. My first response to RS and dfhack was "Wow, you can do that?"

Slaves only worked when I removed the biome tags.

I was just thinking: "When's the next AussieGuy project going to be?" You were memorialized in dwarven !!SCIENCE!! history when you nvented the dwarven checkerboard, and you've done many things since then. Next: DwArven Chess with goblins and nobles. You might leave out the nobles, cause toady fixed unreasonable mandates. Oh, what am I saying? That's dwaven tradition!

@HugoLuman: it was included in the .06 update.

Exactly. Check the wiki under GCS for an outdated idea. The doors for pathing are unnecessary because of pathfinding fixes. (I think.)

In masterwork mod, I have 3 Giant Brown Recluse Spiders which I borrowed from the elves. I'm setting up a silk farm.

Not to mention add in a syndrome that adds NO_BREATH and build your fortress underwater. Alternatively, mod dwarves to have jetpacks and build a space station. Then mod wagons and pack animals to fly up there as well. This could be a mod idea...

Tahujdt is ecstatic. He has enjoyed turning a mountain into candy lately. He has enjoyed embarking as antmen lately. He has been frustrated by an attempt to update Masterwork mod to 34.06 which resulted in Nail walls with clusters of polymorph spell lately. He has admired own fine Monitor lately. He has been amused by the updating of dfhack right as .07 came out lately.

With all the old bugs being fixed, it's only natural that flyer pathing will follow. Enjoy gobbos on GC Swallows flying over your walls and on cave crocs swimming up the plumbing.

Yay, Dfhack for 34.06! Now with DFusion!

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: unbalanced textile industry?
« on: March 28, 2012, 10:30:22 pm »
Maybe rename this thread? Anyway, textiles is the way to go. A few rope reeds, and you can produce year round. With the update, you can turn excess cloth into clothing for your dwarves, and make all the bags you need as well. Besides which, cloth is more renewable than *platinum goblets*. Tht is, until you discover candy. You can buy an entire caravan with one masterwork LSCD. Then, offer all of their trinkets back. My best fort ever was baed on textiles and milling stuff.

As I said, I want fun, not !!FUN!!, but I don't get much of either. On the other hand, I just embarked on a town, so both kinds may yet ensue.
