One of the by far most effective methods is setting the g_fps in the init file to 15 or lower.

How he survived all those undead horrors and clouds of death only Armok and Ralf knows...

Did alot of mining and got rid of the butcher shop. Don't want Urist McRetard reviving a horde of undead skin and hair... became an office for 'ol Chilton instead. When he isn't working on building and engrvaving pictures of trees(he really likes those fckn trees) he goes to his office and does some maneging.

It seems as if our prayers hadn't gone unheard since a wave of strong and healthy fishermen and wrestlers were sent to us by the mountain homes :D

But then again they are coming from a dangerous angle...Chiltons old pony Rudolf is guarding that area. Rudolf had always been the sweetest of ponies, walking by the side of Chillton in any weather. Ah all the great memories...Fck I'm getting sidetracked here >:(
Rudolf had now turned into a fearsome monster, capable of slauthering anything which would move within his hunting grounds. Many creatures multiple times the size of Rudolf had fallen victim to his wrath. The landscape littered with the caracases of Rudolf victims, knowing the amount of blood that had been spilt because of his life long friend, Chillton decided to save the lives of the migrants getting closer and closer to Rudolfs death trap. With his bare hands he caught a butterfly midflight,I'm derailing agian aren't I?, to the butterfly he strapped a map with the perfect strategy to avoid rudolfs lair.
The plan was a success!!!
The migrants changed their course and was now walking round' Rudolf :D

But as they came down to the shoreline...DISASTER STRUCK!

A cloud of death and horror spawned out of the sea enveloping them all...
They never had a chance...in an instant...all those young brave souls turned into zombies...

The incident hit the mood of the fort like a silverwhip to the liver. Chillton kept on working like before but he had lost that bit of hope in his eyes which he still had a few days ago...Chef had been drinking more then usual and barely a single word had been spoken...

The zombies on the other hand...They were happier then ever- playing with fish, riding ponies and the usual braineating...

As I sit here by my well fishing day in and day out it hurts to see the pain in Chilltons face everytime the zombies riding by on hes beloved rudolf swinging freshly caught fish in the air...


Fisherdwarf in blue - ol' Capt.Slowpoke, He has always been a dwarf of few words and even fewer since his ship sank...Sits by well all day but never seem to catch anything...

The dwarf in white - Chillton, The farmers do some farming and the miners do some mining but most other work is done by Chillton.

The dude in the center - Chef, He's an alcoholic even by dwarven standards and that is saying alot ;) A decent dwarf when he lays of the rum for a few hours but that's a rare occasion.

Sleeping dwarf - The laziest carpenter known to dwarf-kind, apperantly some sort of noble back at the civ. Doesn't seem as if she has yet understood how serious the situation is...

Miners - The bigger one is our only full time miner, she has bit of a temprament but gets the job done. The smaller one is the entire military force of Markedangels...

The farmer in the forground - Well, she is bit of mystery since none of us remembers her from back at the civ and she has been awfuly calm through the whole trip, even when we got shipwrecked and when Rudolf attacked....

Since all the migrants got zombiefied and are having a bbq outside you'll have to pick one of the starters if you wanna be dwarfed :P

I would say either Strange or Challenge. Though it may be hard to find something strange that doesn't also seem funny or goofy. Though maybe that would apply to challenge too...

I just want a monstrosity. :)


Also sorry for not submitting last round. I would say it was because I was busy (which I was) but really I was just being lazy. Playing too much Jagged Alliance BiA I guess. I'll get something done this time that's up to par with my first three submissions.
I noticed you've been slacking a bit lately :P and started getting worried you'd lost intrest  I have high expectations on your "comeback".:P

Also this voting-thingie didn't go as I planned since in hindsight I realise that all three could be seen as "goofy" and challanging. My bad, but here's

Everytime I open a door the pony comes running in (noone is there), I close the door and it sneaks back around the corner just out of sight...

Well I'll come up with a way to handle it, hopefully it'll get distracted with something else...Doesn't seem to be the case at the moment since it values it's ambush-position over the hordes of bird-men chilling out a few urists behind it :P

Fixed it!
But I got at first I got a strange tex.-pack mix between 3-4 different packs...what? All moss turned to grass...Non fliers where up a few z-levels...
Restarted...and everythings back to normal :D

I get a messege like "Blackbird template is missing" or something like that...ehh what? ???
You guys wanna take a look at the file?
Also I've tried using 4 different "raws" and 3 launchers...still the fckn blackbird messing it up!

Save got corrupted...Also when I tried to start it, it opened maybe 100 windows of df...The taskmanager crashed so I had to close each window induvidually. Took ages...
Or is there a way to fix a corrupted save? ???

Get Urist McSlowpoke on the job and enjoy the agility gains. If none of your dwarves are able to use those stacks for production, you might as well use them for stat gaining.

Meanwhile, butcher some smaller animals and let your real bonecarvers work on those. You're aiming for no clutter at all, since even the least level of clutter doubles production time.

It might be possible to split the stacks up at the depot, but I don't think that would make the individual bones any less workshop-cluttering.
I'll get on the job right away baws! Carvin bones all day, carvin bones all night, carve all the bones I will. :P Slowly...

Luckily the wind blows in the other direction and I'm we're safe for the moment but a curious hamster(giant :P) checks it out. The hamster immiedatly start running for it life which I don't view as a good sign ??? Manages to escape barely...Bloody fast for their size those things :P

As I'm about to start my digging a group of mosquitomen arrive...aswell as three of the mysterious clouds....

Upon seeing how the crude creatures twists into even more horrifiying forms we all run inside.

A beast of epic porportions in the form of a green insect hunts down one of our miners...the commotion alerts the horrifying creature from before...

For days the beast tries to kill our good friend Momuz McMiner meanwhile the undeadmonster follow both of them.

To spice up the hunt even more one of our buffalos decides to join the fray...Bloody stupid creatures

But on the contrary this might give Momuz a chance to escape...

The giant beast finally takes notice to it's stalker and stops in it's step. As our foes charge at each other momuz and the buffalo is now running from multiple new zombieclouds

The battle between our enemies is quite even until the undead is joined by one of it's kin.

I manage to save all dwarves from the horrors on the outside but all animals are lost...A few murderclouds or a little aquifer ain't gonna stop me  8)
