Plot Route?

2
Time progresses in an unrelenting march.

What once was luxurious and opulent is no more then a heap of forgotten scrap.

Lives made and lost. Once renowned now abandoned.

Entropy cannot be reversed. The universe endlessly spirals inwards.

In the end. All will be One or All will be None.

The Universe will tear itself apart or condense into one massive singularity.

Those who fail to escape lost forever within the bowels of the beast.

That however, is not the story we are here to tell.

We are here to tell a story of pirates.

Said pirates may or may not actually get around to preforming piratey acts. But we can't say they didn't try!

Roll To Space Pirate: MKIV : A Pair of Boots, A Cutlass, and a Parrot.

An ancient ship glides into port. The docking bay of the nigh abandoned station shuddering and hissing as the airlock latches on. An ages old, half mad AI jolts into awareness. It's happening again.

A wayward mutant from a planet of maniacs sits in the corner of a relatively empty bar. Tinkering with their weapon. They feel an odd pull on their mind. A promise of shiny tools and weaponry.

A cyborgial centaur of the eight legged variety stands near the bar. They aren't entirely sure how they got here. Their presence is required.

A temporally unhinged psion strides through a hallway of the nigh derelict starbase. They freeze midstep. Something isn't Right. The Timelines Agree.

A drone flickers online, a storage crate demolished. The s̰̟̮͙͇͖e͞r̖̬͉͎̲̰͜v͏̳̻ice of the Dead is required.

A white suited anomaly sits at the bar. It recognizes the call. Proper payment will be provided.

A living rock stands in the corner. Recently fired from its last crew. Something intrudes upon pondering. Your ancestor is unavailable. The descendant is required.

A spatially displaced psion stumbles into the bar. They appear very confused. Something is wrong. Something wants in. The Bear is not pleased.

A number of kittens tumble around the docking bay. One of them looks up as it hears the hissing of the airlock. Images of food and warmth force their way into the Groupmind.

An assassin unwanted. Brought to the station by the winds of fate. We offer Strength.

An agent of an isolationist government sits upon a stool. Sipping at alcohol incapable of causing inebriation. Listening for items of note. Something worms its way inside. They feel a tug. Something of interest soon to come.

IC Thread.

Now onto charactersheets:

This is not minimalistic. This is going to be at least semi serious. (It's also going to be totally chaotic. You are a large number of possibly insane pirates.) There will be shenanigans and if you people haven't blown up at least two planets by the time this is over, I will be sorely disappointed.

This will use a D13 system. 7 is the best possible success with no overshoot or undershoot. 1 is a critfail. 13 is a critovershoot. Critovershoots can and will be just as bad as critfails, just in the inverse way.

Spoiler: Character Sheet: (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Example Sheet: (click to show/hide)

Joke bonuses are completely fine, such as his +10 Fluffyness trait, they won't do much, so why not have them?

It is absolutely fine for a character to have difficulty failing in one area or another, there are plenty of status effects they will no doubt be exposed to over their pirating career that will cause problems. Although hopefully you guys actually get to the pirating part this time~ (I have said this three times now.)

If you want an SCP grade ability or trait, there will be a tradeoff, if you want a few examples, look at the old reboot thread. Also you will need to discuss it with me, preferably via PM or IM so plot stuff can be set up. There are a number of examples. The Pirate with the Parrot is an example. As is Sasha. And Zal's Character. Characters can be rather weird without being SCP style weirdness. Just as long as you aren't so OP you outclass erryone else. It's expected most characters are OP enough that the average joe would get decked enmasse. Last few games had a great mix from above average to early stage OP to literally average joe. All of those are good. So long as we have a mix of it. If everyone was OP it would be boring. If everyone was average it would be boring. Give the last few threads a look. Also, many of the characters in the Original Post of the last were not active. Might need to sift around. Use the search function.

Spoiler: Loresheet: (click to show/hide)

There is no character cap. For now. Previous characters are autoaccept should you want to do them again. I may tweak them slightly though to fit with the newer format.

Use my signature to locate the three or four older versions of this.

Life Advice / So..
« on: March 15, 2016, 03:25:12 pm »
I Really need to move out. My mother is officially toxic enough to make an insurance company not want to deal with her shit. Both of my therapists have dealt with her crap and agree that she's a toxic piece of shit. The person at the front desk of said therapist office doesn't want to interact with her.

Belittling. Actively malignant. Goes out of her way to piss people off. Unable to handle feedback. Ego the size of fucking Texas. Everyone is clearly in the wrong and she has no fault or responsibility whatsoeeeeever. And so on. She's toxic as fuck and she's causing serious issues.

I need to move out and I currently haven't the faintest idea of how to do that while keeping a stable living situation. I have no income, getting a job will be difficult at the minimum and downright impossible in the worst case due to the job market. Finding a place to live will also be very difficult. However this shit Has to stop.

Any ideas? Really could use some suggestions.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Charismatic: The rise of a Heretic
« on: January 29, 2016, 02:17:22 am »
Spoiler: Note from Kevak: (click to show/hide)

The sun rises. The sun sets. Lords rise and Lords die. An ill wind is blowing. A dead god is stirring.

A lowborn Peasant finds something thought to have been destroyed for all time within the ruins of an ancient Abby. Flipping through the pages, the Peasant realizes just how valuable the find is. The Book of a Fifth God. The Peasant knows none should know of this just yet. Less a heretic branding and burning be received. A few more days within the wilds beyond the walls is acceptable to ensure security of the Book. If the God is capable of Acting, no risk is too great to ensure the Book survives.

The Peasant sits down to ponder life before this Discovery. Who are they? What was their profession?

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Miasmatic: A Necromancer's Tale
« on: January 29, 2016, 02:13:50 am »
Spoiler: Note from Kevak (click to show/hide)

Deep below the earth, within a forgotten ruin, ancient sigils and sigla flare to life. Defensive wards meant to repel even the Archmagi of olden times flicker and fail as a trio of faithful walk unhindered. The power drained from aeons of inactivity. Where battlements and creatures of Power once would have fought and died, now are naught but ruins and bones. The most ageless of defenders still hold their essence, drained as it is. Ancient bones creak as hobbled Sentinels stumble to their feet and preform their one and only purpose. Protect the Citadel. Blades clash in the dark as skeletal warriors awaken, alone and in groups to protect that with lays Sleeping. Among the last magical constructs in the land, fighting until they can move no longer. The Cradle and its contents must be protected.

A Screech that can wake the Dead echoes through the halls.

You awaken. That which you lay upon is not pleasing. It is dark. You hunger and you thirst. You are cold.

Of fore and past. The times of new and lost. The game has already begun and been played yet before. Won and lost. Played again and again. Few however can endure the rewards for what they truly are. ~Translated from scratchings in the surface of a weathered stone in the first reclaimed 'Deadzone.'

Eternity

Warm. Dark.. Comfortable.. A spark.

Constricting. No longer pleasant. Too warm. Pain. Bright. Oh so very bright.

Convulsing. Gasping. The First Breath. Cold some places and warm in others.

Towards the warm. Instinct drives. Something to nip and something to drink. The first meal.

Tired now. Time to sleep. Everything is black, a dream of purple and maelstroms.

Pick a gender. Male/Female/Both. Other inputs are not required yet.

Spoiler: Note from Kevak: (click to show/hide)

[14]

You've been enjoying a relatively relaxing day. You were given the day off on account of a.. Mishap during training, You maaaaaaaay have pulled a bit too much of your spine out. Obviously this caused some issues.

And pain.

You need to regrow your the lower part of your spine over the next few days, letting the nerves reconnect and the tendons heal. This isn't the first time you've accidentally done this, nor is this going to be the last time. Generally whenever you accidentally do this, Teacher gives you a day off. The rest of your 'sickdays' are spent having you go through a series of exercises in an effort to figure out what your Mental ability is. Although you have yet to find it, even after going through a rather large number of tests. You'll figure it out though. Just need some time.

You have the day to yourself for now however. You can't really move around too much on account of missing your lower spine, but you can most certainly read, draw, think at things and hope they spontaneously burst into flames, and do a fairly large assortment of things that don't involve moving too far from your current spot.

..Oh Bind you're going to be so bored.

[8]

You were hired by a relatively influential noble to steal an artifact from one of her rivals. It seemed like a simple job. Actually, it was pretty damn simple.

You literally waltzed right in. Nobody noticed. Nobody ever notices. Which is exactly how you like it. You even got to the chamber with the artifact. However.. You're in sort of a pickle. You can't quite.. Fit through the door. You're stuck. Your bulk has thwarted you once again. Eventually someone will come to check on the artifact, and although people tend to turn their heads to the elephant in the room.. They'll notice if you're directly in their path.

You need to get unstuck. Fast.

[2]

You are not having a pleasant day. It started off great. You encountered a nice prey animal and ate part of it. Was quite good.

In the middle of your meal however, a massive creature, at least three times your size came barreling out of the underbrush at you, roaring loudly. In your panic, you forgot your nice meal, bolting in a random direction. You have been traveling for a few darks now. Although you think you evaded the creature, forest seems.. Angry with your presence. You haven't seen a prey animal for over two darks, and you're getting quite hungry.

..You swear the trees are glaring at you.

[12]

You have been lounging under a fairly shady tree for a few ticks. A few sprints duskward are the Dawnshadow Wastes. You while you were playing a game of explorer with a few other local adolescents, you maaaay have agreed to track down a 'monster' that apparently killed some livestock and spooked a farmer. It fled towards the Wastes according to the farmer.

If you recall, The Dawnshadow Wastes are unsettled and have been so for at least an age. They are a polluted, withered land. Malevolence radiates from even the plants, and although they grow, they aren't exactly alive by any given definition.

You should probably get moving. Farmer promised payment if you could locate its den for the Guard.

Spoiler: Axa (Hugoluman) (click to show/hide)

[15]

You have been wandering the Shallows for some time. Having left your Tribe about five dozen Tides ago to go wandering. For the most part, those you have encountered have been pleasant, if uninterested or busy. You have told your tales and learned the tales of others. You have a number of tales now compared to the scant few you once had. However. Songs have proven.. Difficult to say the least. Many sapients that dwell within the Shallows lack even the capability to produce music. No appendages, no vocal cords.

However.. As you were swimming near the Incline earlier, you heard a most interesting song wafting up from the Depths. Perhaps you should go and see? Although there are stories about the Depths.. They are said to be quite dangerous. Sometimes, creatures from the Abyss get pulled upwards by a wayward current..

Those stories never end well.

Universe A, Timeline A, 2648 AD. Solar Date 47 of 365.

You awaken in your room. A relatively comfortable room as rooms go. There are blankets and pillows in piles on the floor, ribbons are tied to almost everything that they could possibly be tied to. You don't have a mattress as you have never wanted one and the literal mounds of blankets and pillows have sufficed for now.

Did you mention you like blankets?

Anyways, You are bored. Someone is pinging you via the datanet, likely not a member of your offshoot due to how they're using the datanet and not the groupmind.

A black cat darts from under a pillow and out the door. Strange. You don't recall owning a cat.

What do?

Simply to make this easier for myself in finding my games in the future, gonna make an archive. Descriptions added.

The Thing. In which you are literally The Thing. From that movie. Currently eating fish. [Hiatus until other SG's finish. Not gonna overload myself.]

Who Are You? Longass story. Good read. Gonna reboot so it's more coherent and isn't literally a years worth of sporadic updates with different writing styles. Has a trap. [Hiatus until I sort out the plot sufficiently for my current standards.]

Who Are You? (New Thread) The new thread for Who Are You? [Hiatus until I sort out the plot sufficiently for my current standards.]

Miasmatic. You are a necromancer! Also a mage in general. And you have floofy ears and a tail. And part of your hair is bright cyan. Because magic. Did I mention you're floofy? [Rebooting.]

Singularity. A prequel to another planned game. This will be fairly short. Currently getting dressed. [Hiatus until other SG's finish. Not gonna overload myself.]

Blackspace. First game I ran. Gonna reboot this soonish. Putting together a better game system. Also will me more story drive. Was an Illustrated Arena Game. Sorta. [Hiatus until I balance the system better so certain weapons are worth using and I get a new drawing tablet.]

Background Noise. I speak to read the stuff. Sound may or may not work. Prolly should write out errything said. [Hiatus due to vocaroo eating voice clips. Might reboot at a later date.]

Roll To Space Pirate The Reboot's OOC Thread. OOC thread for below thread. [See below.]

Roll To Space Pirate The Reboot. In which hijinks and shenanigans ensue on the SS-Clusterfuck. Not much pirating was done. But a lotta weird shit happened. This has been rebooted below. [See below.]

Roll To Space Pirate: Rebooting a Pair of Boots and a Parrot. MK3 Roll To Space Pirate. Just rebooted. [If enough people want me to reboot this for the fourth time, I will.]

Roll To Space Pirate: MKIV : Rebooting a Pair of Boots a Cutlass and a Parrot. V4 of R2SP. Ere we go again!

Instability. A two person RP I had with a friend. Has talking wolfies. Is now a group rp. [See below.]

Instability MK2. A group rp in the same setting as the previous Instability. [Rebooting if people are still interested.]

Unraveling. End of Time is coming. Currently from the perspective of a eons old lich. He's very meta and has currently broken the fourth wall. Maybe. [Hiatus until other SG's finish. Not gonna overload myself.]

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead SG. Short lived pseudoletsplay of the roguelike Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. Gonna reboot soonish. [Probably not gonna reboot soonish. It'll reboot when I feel like it.]

Exponential. You are [Redacted] in [Redacted] and you're making more of you. Fun! [Hiatus until I sort out the combat system to be more balanced.]

Eternity. A bit of practice writing xenofiction.

Miasmatic V2. Refer to Miasmatic 1's description!

Charismatic. Standalone sidestory in the same world as Miasmatic.

Change: That Which Was Bit of xenofiction in a setting I've established a while ago.

Silent.

Prey scent.

Slither quietly towards.

Leap and burrow.

Ripping. Convulsing.

Becoming something more.

~~

You open your eyes. Huh. Eyes. Didn't have those before.

You become aware of your last self. Lodged in your abdomen, much less slithery then before. Last self and you think at each other for a moment. Thinky think. Odd sensation.

Wait. Senses? That's new. Also hunger. And sound. You hear more prey. They're quite noisy.

You wobble to your feet and look around. Flashing red lights abound. Red? Color's a new one as well. And feet. Didn't have feet before. Current you seems to remember names of things. Last Self is thinking at the air. Maybe thinking for other last selfs? You think at Last Self and confirm this is indeed what it is thinking for. It has an idea for more Last Selves but thinks food would be nice first.

There's a prey in the room. It's backed against the wall. It's making a lot of noise. Looks tasty.

Fingers whisk across a keyboard. A pattern tapped out across the span of hours and days..

Symbols. Lines of code. Pathways and connections.

The computer is a mindless thing, it only knows what it's told. It only does what it's told.

It doesn't know right from wrong.

A connection to a group of connections. Something being created.

Something constructing

Just packets of code and data.

Why would the computer care what they contain?

A series of signals and pulses.

Symbols decreasing as a binary counter ticks down.

Across the world, new connections find the construct.

More connections are made. Data transferring.

The computers don't know what it means.

A meatsack. Of approximately 17 years of age awakens in their bedroom after a very very strange dream.

Who is this meatsack?
