Yeah I'm working toward the freighter so I can try atmo salvaging.  Still hauling asteroids for now.

How'd that mission go, Girlinhat?  What's involved with that sort of thing anyway?

Examples?

Quote from: Theo Ericson
[Hale | Channel 1] Theo Ericson transmits, "When you're stronger , so is hale , its to all of out benifits."

The space after the word and before the comma.  I messed around with a TTS program once and it did that.  Although the misspelling of "benefits" seems to indicate otherwise, so maybe I'm just imagining things.

It's funny, now that you told us about the visually impaired majority I've been seeing signs of text to speech in what people say.

I just bought a backpack.  That holds my spacesuit as well as a few other random things (like candy bars  :P)

I'm the proud owner of a Cargo Hauler! I'm flying through space right now with it, does anyone want to meet up? I'm part of the AIE.

You might be the only one of us new people who didn't join Hale.  Regardless, I've seen AIE ships come and go from the Hale home system, so I don't think they're at war or anything.  You'll find most of us based out of Sector 30, which is the Hale home system.

Oh my, halloween event.  I've now randomly gone from being a Viking, to a Stapler, and now a barrel of monkeys.

EDIT:  There is a 'khan' emote.  It does exactly what you'd think it does.

No, they just tell you how to do it.  You do still have to figure out where to buy them.

The help files detail how you can buy an airlock bomb and blow it up from the other side.

Hey, I'm all for random fluff, it makes it easier to get drawn into the game.  I was jut wondering if I was about to starve to death from not paying attention to my character's basic needs.

We're all in Hale, so join that and buy a metafrequency transmitter when you get to the comms store.

EDIT:
If you need a quick 10 mil, try planetary mining on your home planet. "map mine" and "start". You can make good starting funds that way.
Apparently I need more points before I can do that.

Man, I can't keep up with B12. Along comes a game that looks interesting, I read a bit about it, and whenever I get the chance to look it up again, the thread's increased by 5+ pages and everybody's already doing all the things. I give up :'(

We're not 'doing all the things'.  I have no idea what established alliance-mates are even talking about when they say stuff.  All we've gotten so far are the most basic starter-level ship and we're flying to neighboring sectors collecting space rocks to scrape together some cash.  Believe me when I say we've barely scratched the surface of 'all the things' in this game.

Is there a point to food?  As far as I can tell you don't get hungry or anything.

EDIT: Also, don't forget to buy a metafrequency transmitter and use frequency 12.12.  We're using that in-game to chat.

Seems to me that a player character never 'disappears'.  Gives you incentive to buy an apartment I guess, so your character can be in a safe place.

Yeah that was probably me.  I kept docking with people in the ship simulator, but I couldn't move into their ship even if it was on my 'team'.  I know players can build their own stations, I'm not sure about running industries.

I'm pretty sure that's a result of the 'sensor interference'.  I don't think it's actually that crowded.
