Goes without saying but if you haven't played Castlevania Symphony of the Night, there's minor spoilers here, so don't look if you never played it. Go get it. Its awesome

I'm bad at searching and can use the help. I've been looking for a few hours now and I'm not finding that last room I need. Its just ONE room

And this here is the finished map

I know this might not be the best place to ask (or even the proper board), but I'm asking you guys cause I know you're awesome and have better eyes than me (and I don't wanna wait a month asking GameFAQs)

DF Gameplay Questions / Do chained prisoners scare dwarves?
« on: November 02, 2018, 12:12:10 pm »
I ask because I want to make a GCS silk farm using a goblin so I don't have an angry, hostile cave spider scaring the gatherers. But if they do scare dwarves anyway, I'll just leave it untamed. Makes it easy for me either way, just which is easier

DF Gameplay Questions / Questions regarding Ice
« on: March 21, 2018, 12:42:22 pm »
So I started in an area with a natrual waterfall but it freezes over in the winter. I want to use this to build a meeting hall that has the waterfall flow through it, but I don't know how dangerous that will be.

My questions are:

- how deep does water have to be to turn into ice
- if the water flows through a grate, does it destroy the grate when it turns to ice
- does mist turn into ice

May ask more questions

Current Job (If one is taken)

Spoiler: Job 2 (click to show/hide)

Norune Village. Years ago, it was a small settlement with a "stable" population just shy of 30 souls with traders using it as a resupply and rest point. Being one of the few settlements that ran along the hills of Hilthborg that brought trade to the west, money always came in at a steady pace.

But Lord Norune, like most men, was prone to great ambition. When King Ingvar Christofferson said he had his choice of land to rule for his military service, he was confused why he chose a land that was infertile and so far from the coastline. Lord Norune didn't want wealth or power; he didn't need that. Lord Norune was a man who had everything he wanted, save for one thing. He was born into a noble house who was brought to ruin over poor decisions from his parents and was forced to leave his home. What he became instead of a worker or a peasant made his family cast him out. He became a mercenary, or as he preferred, and Adventurer. He travelled the continent over in his years, until his home was invaded by an orcish campaign to seize lands again. Fighting them off, he regained his title as an Earl of Hilthborg.

Now retired from war and adventuring, Lord Norune had but one dream to accomplish; one campaign he had left.

To build the first Adventurer's Guild.

Over the years, Lord Norune's small village went from a small boom town that barely made ends meet to the continent's biggest gathering place, far surpassing Tunstead in its constant call for mercenaries. Soon enough, the town grew to have more adventurers than townsfolk. Lord Norune finally saw his dream unfurl before malevolence came from the east: The Hobgoblin invasion.

Lord Norune lead the battle himself, with a force of four hundred adventurers of all backgrounds and the army of Hilthborg, two thousand strong. While the Hobgoblins outnumbered them, the great might of the adventurer army brought the Hobgoblins to the sword, and they became but a fairy-tale after this famed "Battle of the Red River". However, Lord Norune gave his last charge, having been slain in battle.

Over the next few years, things changed Norune for both the better and for worse. A large inn dedicated to housing adventurers rose up, and the village became a large town within a year of the war, as word spread quickly of their deeds. However, over time, the influx of adventurers grew too great, and there was little work to be found. Soon, other towns began to take Norune's idea and build their own adventurer's guilds. Within ten years of its peak, Norune went from a bustling city to a nearly abandoned frontier town.

But as long as there were people here, Norune would stand. The great adventurer's guild stood proud, overlooking the empty town.

Whether it be by you arriving with a caravan, following the northern trade road, or by searching for the first great Adventurer's Guild for glory, wealth or fame, you are here, in the washed-up town of Norune. Buildings look old and worn. A large building, seemingly more opulent than the rest stands to your right with a large fence surrounding it. Farther down, you see a market square with a few small caravans with a small stall to sell wares around a circular patch of overgrown road. There appears to be a boarded up building next to it with a broken sign depicting some strange creature. Another building is boarded up but appearing broken down and condemned. The place seems to have looked noble in years past, but age, and something else, has clearly been unkind to it. A medium sized temple is next to the less grand building, with a holy symbol marked on its door. Next to that, is a VERY large building with cracked and moss covered dragon statues and a heavily faded sign on it. The size of it makes it almost the size of a small tower. To the north, and the opposite side of the road, a building with a massive door lets in a set of horses and comes out with a caravan that makes its way past you before leaving town to the east.

My liason has been there for about a month. The meeting is already concluded, and I know if he doesn't leave, I won't get the stuff I requested (I think).

Is this supposed to happen and he'll just up and leave or is this a bug?

I've been idle in the world of DF recently, and I remember I had a great game where after the first year, no migrants came (none left in the world) and no merchants. I was wondering if it was possible to know when/how this occurs?

So I made it to the game corner, and I have NO idea what to do since the rules stated by the run I'm doing not only scores you for pokemon owned, but it also limits the number of anything bought from each vendor (max of 5) AND I am given a score based on pokemon I catch, so it matters what I choose to do... Here's the variatn page

There's two ladies at the game corner. One sells pokemon prizes and the other TMs. Do I count the game corner like the Department store and have both as one vendor? Either way, do I get one pokemon or get a max of one each since I haven't caught any of them? The site that listed the nuzlocke variant never said anything on gift or Game Corner pokemon, so I have NO idea what to do here. I have enough coins to get one of each (I want to kill myself after that though...), so do I get one of each and get the 6 points or get one and get myself just the 2 points? I'll throw up a poll just in case you don't want to post

Hey, so my laptop keeps crashing, and I've done what I remember from my classes; checking event viewer, checking temps, checked for viruses and cleaning the machine, but I'm not finding anything.

It makes a "wheeeeee" sound that also is heard when I shut off my machine by holding down the power button and it just stays turned off except I can turn it back on using the finger swipe. It also acts as if I tried booting the system before and I get the "Windows didn't boot up successfully. What do?" and the options are safe mode, etc.

It also is almost impossible to reliably replicate it. Event viewer only displays things after the system boots up, and half of them show up on a normal bootup sequence. Temps are running between 44-50 C and I have a cooling pad keeping it in check.

Last time it happened, I booted it up and it crashed after about 10 minutes of use. It started yesterday and crashed continuously for 8 times after I fired a shotgun in payday 2 into the head of a cloaker, and would cash every 10 minutes or so afterwards.

I'm asking, besides event viewer, what can I look at to find anything about what can be going on during these crashes that causes the system to just eat s*** every now and then? Or if any of the description things above clicks for any of you.

You awaken again, the sun barely up itself, pouring into your room. Your alarm goes off for 7:00am.

Its early in the morning and a name pops up in your head:

"Derrek Sanderson"

The name is there and you remember hardly anything else but hatred. You don't remember why you feel this way, but it must end.

I've been looking over Shadowrun's books (my buddy gave me the 4th edition books) and I love everything I find in it, but I'm too busy in real life to gather others to start playing or find a group near me. So I'm turning to you guys.

I have most, if not all (I think, I may be wrong) of the fourth edition books (send me a PM if you need the books, I angered Toady One last time I posted them openly on here. It would be best if you hunted them down yourself. I'll supply a list of the books I have below (feel free to tell me of any I'm missing)).

I also wish to do this Play By Post, because with life as a Canadian college student, I don't have time to set aside for roll20 or similar.

I've been looking over the rulebooks for shadowrun recently, and I love what I'm seeing. However, I don't have people who live near me who know he game enough.

So my question is: who would be interested in a game of Shadowrun? I only have the books for 4th edition shadowrun.

And note if we do run this, we need someone to run it (because I never played before)
