Other Games / Re: Visual novel thread
« on: May 02, 2016, 12:50:24 pm »
Since I'm reminded that this thread exists, there's some very interesting things going on industry side right now. Mangagamer is pushing super hard for Steam recently. Ozmafia has been surprisingly successful, although the number of people naming the player character "Slut Queen" is far too few. Additionally, Gakthun made it on, apparently ESRB rated it M despite the pretty explicit sex scenes. With stuff like Witcher 3 making it, that's fair, but it's still interesting to see the double standard there dissolve.

Meanwhile, JAST finally managed to actually push Seinarukana out. That shit was haunted, I'm surprised they didn't mothball it after it went on a hard drive killing spree. JAST also put out a mindbogglingly horrid demo of Flowers, much to everybody's horror/grim amusement.

In Sekai land, they licensed Hoshimemo, according to Insem, they haven't contacted him about using his translation at all so presumably they're doing it from scratch. I think a lot of people will be genuinely surprised at how different it comes out when it's straight Japanese > English, rather than going through a middle language.

I think you probably mean Sburb, and I could get behind a short reskin of one of the Double Dragon games. That'd be fun.

Hotfix nerf to Sacrifice.

6.87b:
* Sacrifice Cooldown increased from 44/36/28/20 to 60/50/40/30
* Sacrifice Mana restore increased from 25/40/55/70% to 30/50/70/90%
* Blade Mail cooldown increased from 13 to 18
* Jinada slow reduced from 25/27/29/31% to 18/22/26/30%
* Armlet's armor bonus is now granted after it is fully activated

Having played around with it a bit, I've determined Yogg with 6-10 spells and around 10 cards left in your deck is the sweet spot where he's mostly beneficial. Too early and you just spent 10 mana for nothing, too late and he fatigues you every time.

Got a pretty decent DsGl^Dith going. I was hoping for the nightstalker mutation, I think I'm out of mutation slots, which is a little disappointing. On the other hand, this character has been unbelievably blessed by the rng in every other respect. I'm legitimately lost on what rings and weapon I should be using. I'm holding off on investing in armor because there's an enchanted swamp dragon armor in a shop for 1050g. What gear should I be wearing? It's tempting as hell to just put on everything for max AC and just be unkillable until Lair.

Find a way to rewrite the term until it's one of those two.

Yogg'Saron mage might be the most entertaining deck I've seen in a long time. Get it before it gets stale as hell and "oh wow, Yogg just fatigued his user again. shocking"

I feel like a lot of aghs are alchemists bait.

An even function looks the same if you mirror it across the middle line without a horizontal shift. An odd equation looks the same if you rotate it 180 degrees around without either a horizontal or vertical shift. For even, think y = x^2. It looks the same as you go either positive or negative from x = 0. For odd, think y = x. It goes up when it goes right the same speed as it goes down when it goes left. If you flipped the graph upside down it'd look the same.

I don't think jungle vayne was ever popular. I have no idea what special brand of elo hell you guys were in, but at best it was a fun gag build in normals when you're playing with buddies who don't give a fuck. It certainly wasn't anywhere close to worthy of an "ugh"

Vayne having to focus a single target for silver bolts was a pretty clear choice on riot's part. % HP true damage is degenerate enough without it being basically free to apply.

Mid used to be a good place to go, but she's taken enough of a beating from various nerfs and retunings that she's really just far and away better in the jungle. First few camps are sketchy as hell, getting executed the first few times you play her isn't that abnormal.

Basically, only ever get in early fights in advantageous situations. Always have an advantage in numbers. 3v2 or 2v1, it doesn't matter as long as your teammates are down with your gank.
