General Discussion / Re: Things That Made You Nervous Today

Past what age? The age of being able to have fun? ???
The age of drinking for the sake of drinking.

It turns out: Yes, I am. The music won't start til tomorrow, and people were planning on just sitting around drinking all day today - so I went home for an additional night of dryness.
There was a thunderstorm a couple minutes ago. I made the right call.

Going to my first festival tomorrow. I'm not even that enthusiastic about the music, I was sort of talked into it - and it's shaping up to be just a couple days spent wasted and/or high for much of the group.

I guess this is where I find out whether I'm past that age :P

I'd like to recommend Rubber to everyone who liked Men Who Stare At Goats. Slow pacing, excellent movie.

I don't get it. It may be the alcohol, but I don't get it.

Yup. Smaug. The right tom yum makes one breath fire.
That sort of makes me want to try your tom yum. Then again, it doesn't. Then again, it does...

@Tawa: Just go for it. What's the worst that could happen?

My current suggested line is door-in-the-face: 'Hey, wanna fuck?' 'No!' 'Well, then you're gonna at least have coffee with me instead, no?'

Sounds fucking brutal. Even if it's a death on a side I do not support.

Huh, I only see Ireland: Its Western and its currently occupied Eastern island :P

Ravenclaw makes up a huge proportion of mathematicians' results IME. We've got some Hufflepuffs too and a couple Slytherins and Gryffindors, but the bias is overwhelming.

Doesn't sound like too great a solution then.
The point of the exercise wasn't to find a great solution but to determine if a solution could be evolved without input just by successively culling the failures and allowing the 'most successful' to breed. It was an experiment..
Well yeah. But it also shows that you have to be very careful about what inputs you give to an evolutionary algorithm, since it'll work with the inputs you actually gave it, and not with the inputs you intended to give.

Kinda like the free market went for 'Kill the Irish' as a solution to the potato shortage. Technically it works, but it's not one you want...

7/10

I like the simplicity, and am neutral about the content.

So basically you're one of Draco's thughs? :D

I am fire.
I am death.
I made tom yum.
4/10, not a haiku at all. Maybe it's a reference I don't get... How about 'Now I am become death, maker of tom yum'?

Naah, I would've detested the guy. More like a man on the inside, if you get him to warm up to you. Horrible and far-fetched pun not intended.
