Quote
“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”
Huh, kinda sounds like what I do at parties.

Is it wrong that I immediately thought of a hardcore BDSM thing?

Hey, that sounds roughly like what I did in freshman year.

Now I'm close to finishing my studies, and instead of spending 4am drunk in a pub, I'm spending it at the institute working on my thesis. O tempora, o mores...

Living Rock: A small, oblong piece of limestone rock. If kept moderately warm for a while, it will crack to reveal a chick.

The right side is where you're a manufacturer of alarm systems.

Wait, could we breed grass into a plant where we harvest the rhizomes? That would be /neat/ - much fewer pesticides needed, because normal plants don't exactly react well to being mown or grazed all the time.

Naah, the Spanish police would take it away.

That's an interesting question, actually: How hard or easy is it for someone with basic metalworking skills and a supply of, let's say, hunting rifles to produce full-auto weaponry? The plans must all be patented, so the acquisition of technical details is not that difficult.

So the sweet-fruit people are you upstart 13th century revisionists. Which is also born out in e.g. German. "Fruckt" is the botanical term, and "obst" is the culinary term.
Ah, it's more like 'Obst' is the nonspecific plural of 'Frucht'. 'Obst' roughly means 'a bunch of Früchte'. We have the same 'Is a tomato a Frucht or a Gemüse?' argument over here. It is however true that 'Obst' is a decidedly non-botanical term.

Fuck, now Obst doesn't sound like a real word anymore. Obst Obst Obst...

Wait, that actually happens?

Now how to release a suitable number of them in Newry....
Man, and I had just put my Armalite back in its hiding place. You're really not making things easy for me.

The joke's getting a tad old, isn't it? If I'm getting on your nerves, please do tell me.

Same with silver bullets, really.

I will say this, the one advantage is that having MPs tied to constituencies allows you to get rid of shit MPs. On the flip side it's also cancer, and I think it'd be more sensible just to split local representatives from national representatives, so you'd vote for a local MP and a national MP
Germany has precisely that - look into MMP. It's pretty much the best of both worlds.
