Other Games / Re: Self-Imposed Challenge Thread

Hmph. I've got a non-specific self-challenge whenever I play FPS-Prevent every single npc death I can.

That was a total pain on the first level of sarge's hero...

After watching lots of videos for this...

Lets see. 2 player co-op. An inventory. If one player dies, you can revive him with some sort of pill.

Raptors are playable.

Items can be equipped. They can have fairly good stat boosts and animals can have multiple accessories on at once. Even raptor.

Stat boost case:The one I noticed is the pomeranian had a base 32 damage. With just a spike hat hit jumped 20 points to 52. It had three more equip slots.

You have to reach a certain rank to be able to attract certain mates.

Once you mate (on a generic "nest" of straw) you control the next generation which comes with a stat boost and starts out tiny. The adults... uh... stand there? You can instantly grow to adult hood by sleeping at the nest.

I'm not sure if babies born is random or fixed for the same species. Player takes control of one leader animal and the rest follow your movement actions perfectly until combat starts from what I can tell. Only the one player animal is equipped? Maybe boss animals like boxing kangaroo.

Flag markers are... some sort of territory marker? Animals have different animations for marking them-red is not owned by player, blue is.

Rank goes up with kills. It "may" also go up with territory. You have a map which shows potential mates as hearts.

Stats go up at several times. I noticed both after a kill, with accessories, and after mating. May also go up with inventory items.

You have to finish the tutorial to play the game. Required.

That's all I've gathered so far. ... Erm, actually, that's all I remember. It's been weeks since I saw all those videos.

. . .

Lucky for me, despite being a Nintendo Only, then More nintedo + a lonely ps2, then by the graces of a well to do programmer friend of mine PCTendo2, I finally got a Ps3 so I could play with friends I actually knew outside the internet.

And for Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. I'm serious.

Anyway, I'm still more concerned about how opened ended survival is? I know some of the trophies have to do with reproducing several generations and living for a certain number of years (I think one is for a century) but besides Surviving and breeding... objectives? Or survive how we want? Will we somehow die inexplicably if we decide NOT to leave this cozy appartment where I don't die to alligators prowling the subway?

Why can't anyone host a game for more than Five seconds? Had this game since before any major dlc and...

I haven't caught a single good online session.

Hyrule:Total War. I think that explains it pretty well.

Although, before anyone complains about canon, it's based off of UN's manga. Actually, just google him... he's done a lot of nice stuff.

To add to word of mouth, I think you have to go through survival mode before you can play story.

In that respect, is survival mode an open ended go-where-you-want-/-need world? Or is it linear objective based survival?

... Mostly the potential to go in a different direction since it's in its fairly early stages.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a lot more than 3. But this forum generally seems good about extra topics, so I'm willing to be proven wrong.

Also, updating the OP to the best of my ability. But I haven't go the game yet, so I must take your word for it.

Gnomoria is an Alpha stage Indie game with a resemblance to Stonesense Dwarf Fortress. In its early stage it is nowhere NEAR as complex as Dwarf Fortress and has begun Pre-Orders with playable Alpha a-la minecraft.

http://gnomoria.com/

In its current state it has much untapped potential. How it will turn out could be interesting, and I suggest you look at it yourself. The site is small and a short read on your break is all you would need. It definitely won't turn out just like DF, but we could really use more games like Dwarf Fortress, maybe this could turn out to be a simpler game which could ease people into the genre?

Who knows what the future will hold...

And I'm back from trying to tame a giant sponge for a few years.

Someone get me to the medical dwarf.

223
Why not include the time someone wanted to make a fort that wasn't so dysfunctional.

And lost because they got board.

I can't believe I did the above.

224
Impressive work, sir. I applaud your fine effort.

Now, to MOD some more!

oh, ahem. Excuse me, I seem to have found a mild interest in your endeavor in the recreation of a recently acquired entertainment program I came across on an online distribution device pertaining to water heated past its boiling point...

Hey wait. Aren't mutons PURPLE with green suits? I swear I can see a collar on live mutons. Just capture one and look at the info. the autopsy removes the green suit.
