I don't understand why C is still taught and used,
can't C++ do everything C can do plus more,
I mean, can't you type C code in a C++ program?

so there is a rumor going around that Alex Trebek is an avid Dwarf Fortress player, and that he very well may be a member on this forum.
People on the DF steam group chat have been talking about it for the past few days.

It would be interesting if YOU were Alex Trebek. :P

I knew there was a reason why all his avatars are of clapping hands.

I couldn't actually find a clip of Trebek clapping, so enjoy this instead. I did.

ha, I remember when they filmed that.
I mean,
I do not deny nor confirm that I am or am not Alex Trebek.
but I think someone with a wiki account should edit my his wiki page, because People aren't allowed to edit their own pages.

The trial was only good for 24 hours of play time during T2.
24 hours played time or 24 hours realtime from the moment you log in first?

I played in T4, and it was play time, but I don't think it was 24 hours.

and in H&H if you don't eat you can starve to death, and it's permadeath, where when you die you start a new character.
and it's free,
I think those are all good differences to me.

When Haikus do fly,
Duck and dodge them if you try,
They will not hurt you.

haiku about surviving having haikus thrown at you.

Haven and Hearth is a lot like A Tale in the Desert, but it's 2D, and free,
both games are a bit dated, and I played both for a while, but I couldn't imagine paying for aTiTD again,
H&H is a lot of fun if you have some people to play with.
like starting up a forum town.

The main thing I'm planning on doing with, openGL is 2D games, so ogre and irrlicht are both out of the question.  And since I've been working with SDL for so long I'm not sure if I want to switch to SFML, but I'll check it out.  Thanks for the tutorial suggestion shades, I'll check that out as well.

So, I program in C++, and I only know SDL, i'm a good way into making a game, and I was wondering if it was worth it continuing work on this, or if I should stop and learn OpenGL before continuing,
I mean, SDL is working fine for me, working on learning SDL's multithreading and getting this program threaded.
it should be easy to upgrade it to OpenGL if I end up needing to, right?  I mean it's just a change in the way it draws to the screen, right? or what..
any opinions on the matter?

Also, anyone have any suggestions for how to learn OpenGL, i've tried tackling it twice so far, both times didn't end well for me.

I really need to learn to start leaving more notes in my code,
started working on something I hadn't touched in about 2 months, and it's a headache figuring out what the hell I was thinking.

P.S. it's shitty programming without a mouse, and I may be looking for a new artist here soon, as I haven't been in contact with my current artist for about a month or two and he's not responding to emails / msg's, (I would do the art but I'm mouse-less atm and it's pixel stuff)

also, Alway, that's looking rather sexy, nice improvement.

I'll give you ten bucks for the lot. $8 profit!
I've put together about half of it,
I can't seem to find any sort of character profiles anywhere, like the thing that has their stats and stuff,
do I need to buy a codex for each army?
there are pieces from space marines, imperial army, and tharanoid or whatever those aliens are called.
wanted to play a real fast 10v10 game against my brother, but then I looked at the instruction book,
I think I might keep them and use them in a craaAAaaazy Dnd game, like where they get teleported to the future or something.

Was at the library today, and they had some warhammer 40k kits for sale for $2 each, so I bought them, came home and looked them up online to find I got over $200 of warhammer stuff for under $10, trying to decide if I want to resell it or try playing it.

anyway you can do a release of the Companion Order feature as an individual mod,
as well as the Culinary shop and maybe the plants,

I play a super custom version of the game, and those are the only things I'm really interested in putting into my game.
