Update for my current game

11-23-90: Military activity detected in Iraq close to Saudi Arabia.

11-29-90: Iraqi Republican Guard detected massing along the border with Saudi Arabia.

11-30-90: United States launches a full scale invasion of Cuba.
12-2-90: Iraq Invades Saudi Arabia. US Protests the invasion and Appeals to the UN. The United States remains neutral.
12-4-90: Cuba surrenders to the United States.
December 9, 1990: Current Events
Fighting in Saudi Arabia continues, with Iraq steadily gaining the upper hand. The United States now controls Cuba, Cuban ideology has switched to Capitalism, and Castro is now awaiting trial for crimes against the Cuban people. The Communist foothold in the Western Hemisphere has been removed. But the Third World War had begun. Since I am currently taking a neutral stance in the Middle East, I will mainly focus on rebuilding Cuba, continuing full deployment of troops to friendly nations bordering the Soviet Union, and seeking to build a coalition with non-aligned nations bordering the Soviet Union.

6-3-90: In order to boost the economy, the United States grants MFN Status to France and Japan.
7-4-90: CIA reports possible Soviet plans to sabotage German assets, the US sends intelligence aid to Germany.
8-2-90: Iraq Invades Kuwait. US Protests and Appeals to the UN. Kuwait surrenders to Iraq the same day.
8-10-90: US Sponsored Coup in Iran successfully ousts Islamic dictatorship and switches Iran's ideology to capitalist.
8-20-90: Soviet Union goes into Civil War, causing a change in government. Soviet Union ideology is still communist. It can be speculated that hard-line communists overthrew Gorbachev.
8-24-90: Low-ranking officials in Cuba organize mass demonstrations in Havana. Leader's effectiveness down by 10%.
9-29-90:
A: Soviet Union attempts to arm communist rebels in Germany, but fails.
B: Germany tries to open a cultural exchange with the Soviet Union but fails.

10-8-90: Opposition forces in Cuba hold private protest meetings. Leadership effectiveness down by 2%.

10-9-90:
A: Soviet Union attempts to sabotage Germany's economic services but fails.
B: Germany successfully condemns the Soviet Union.

10-10-90:
A: Soviet Union successfully condemns Germany.
B: United States sides with Germany and successfully condemns the Soviet Union
c: Soviet Union tries to condemn the United States but fails.
d: Germany tries to condemn the Soviet Union but fails.

10-23-90: Soviet citizens unhappy with the current government stages demonstrations throughout the nation. Leader's effectiveness down by 5%.

10-26-90: Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is assassinated by an Iraqi agent. Egypt goes from Low Conflict to Limited War.
10-27-90: An Egyptian agent attempts to assassinate Saddam Hussein, however the agent was discovered and shot dead.

November 11, 1990: Current Events
Iraq will likely invade Saudi Arabia on December 2, 1990. Currently debating whether to focus on the Soviet Threat or the Persian Gulf Crisis. Considering remaining neutral in Middle East except in defense of Israel. I will likely stage a coup in Iraq down the road before they can threaten Israel. May increase troop levels in Germany considering recent Soviet activities there. Considering possible military action against Cuba within a few "game" days.

So you set a trap, forcing the soviets to use conventional warfare and not nuclear bombs.  I like.

Yeah, when it comes to taking on the USSR, you must ignore the temptation to "soften" up the enemy by using surgical strikes. You do that and you are asking for possible nuclear reprisal. It is easiest to be patient and wait until the Soviet will to fight is very low and they have less then 1,000,000 troops left. Since I have been able to do this on more then one occasion, I will make a point in taking screenshots next time so I can show everyone here.

Question: If I were to let Iraq take Kuwait, Saudi, and Jordan, then sponsor a successful Capitalist Coup in Iraq to overthrow Saddam, would this cause all states under Iraqi control to automatically switch over to Capitalism as well? Might be easier in the end to bring peace to the Middle East if there are less states to deal with.

I also got a problem with Quality of Life right now. It stands at 72%. Soviet Union and China are sovereign once again and ruled by Capitalism, but relies on America totally for defense. Mexico and Cuba are both occupied by the US. What is the best way to raise my QofL without giving up control of Cuba or Mexico? I been at 100% before while in control of both those countries in different games.
